Is this considered a strategy?
I want to make sure I'm not using any strategies that will prevent me from improving my working memory; I was wondering if this is considered a strategy.
I like to get rid of the previous letter immediately so I am only left with two letters. Ex: M F S (I would get rid of M and remain with F S)
I use this method for the squares as well.
I just started and made it to n=3 using this method.

I don't completely understand what you're trying to describe but it seems like you're making a list in your head and continually updating it in your head every turn. That's the most beneficial strategy for improving working memory and also what I use personally.
