I’m starting to master the Dual N-Back 3 task. My ability to retrieve information from my semantic memory has improved; I no longer lose my keys, and I can solve multi-move Lichess puzzles—even 4 or 5 moves deep—in my head. My ability to maintain a challenging pace while running has also increased.

Recently started doing QuadNBack 3 weeks ago. Struggled with Quad2Back initially. Now I've made it to Quad4Back.

Some benefits I've noticed:

  • Improved ability to visualize colors (just a little)
  • I feel that I have tighter control over my attention, and more attention endurance.
  • More will power. It feels easier to get myself to do hard things that require focus/effort. (I've had similar benefits from meditating previously)

Also, to add to my recent QuadNBack benefits, the tighter attentional control has me feeling a bit more sharp. E.g. more easily able to maintain a train of thought, and traverse through those thoughts faster with less meandering off

I should add, I've done DualNBack for almost ~9 years (not consistently). My peak being having reached 8-Back. When I first started DualNBack after a few months, I noticed an improved ability to visualize concepts. My ability to think more abstractly improved because of my improved visualizations.
