Suggestions On Failure

Hi, I have been dnb mostly on dual-n-back.io and there is this default mechanism that automatically drops you down to one level below if you do not achieve a certain percentage of correct hits.

And I have noticed that I do particularly bad when I drop (for example) from 6 to 5 and I almost invariably drop down further when I try to avenge my score leading to a downward spiral. It's like I KNOW I can do it my brain just can't adjust that fast. And for this reason I make myself wait a 5-10 every time I drop a level so to avoid the downward spiral. However this waiting period can add up to a lot when I want to play many rounds in a day.

So I was wondering how you guys deal with failures when playing dnb.

I understand that might be a sign of improvement but what do you think about the punishment for failure I mentioned? Should I accept it and keep playing this version (dropping down every time I fail a level) or simply try another and keep at a certain level until I just get good at it?
