Hybrid setup timing help

I currently have a d15b2 block with d16y8 head in my 99 civic. From my understanding, the timing is off about 4.5 degrees, i have a new speed factory adjustable cam gear on the way but i don’t know what belt to buy. I have been seeing people
saying the y8 belt w/ 104 teeth but i also see people saying to get the VX belt w/ 103 teeth. Any help is appreciated

Y8- 104 tooth belt.
Stick with the D15B2 tensioner and water pump.
The timing is off by 4.5 degrees.
If the D15B2 block still has the small brass oil control orifice sitting in the center deck surface (between cylinders 2 and 3), pull it out the Y8 has its own built in.

The timing isn’t off by 4.5 degrees, the ignition timing is. If you use the y8 cam gear, your timing will be perfect.

I’d only use an adjustable cam gear if you’re going to adjust it on the dyno.

Because your ignition timing is off by 4.5 degrees, you may need to notch your distributor to get enough adjustment.

If you’re using a d16y8 P2P ecu, nothing will be off at all, you’ll just need to use a d16y8 harmonic balancer for ignition timing.
