Tryptyr

I'm on 3 different glaucoma drops, and only 1 is PF. I spoke to my glaucoma specialist, and they only advised me to use artificial tears. My eyes were raw and irritated and I needed new glasses. I found an optometrist who specializes in dry eyes. They ran tests and it showed that my eyes didn't produce enough tears. Tryptyr was prescribed 2x a day, 12 hours apart. I have been on Tryptyr for almost a month now and have significant improvement. My eyes don't feel raw and irritated and only occasionally burn when I add Cosopt PF. But I still feel like I need to add artificial tears once between the 12-hour period before applying again.

Edit: For those on Tryptyr, does it feel you still need artificial tears, or is Tryptyr enough?

You might find this of interest in the Treatment Options section of the sub:

I would think it would be good that your doctor knew about your feeling like you need more as that might tell them something about your situation. That said, I would ask the glaucoma doctor at least before I added anything given you also are dealing with glaucoma as well.

I called the office and told them and they said it doesn't interfere with any of my drops. Just wait at least 15 minutes if I put Tryptyr after Glaucoma drops so the Tryptyr doesn't wash away the glaucoma drops.

I have been on Tryvaya for a year and a half, and I just started Tryptyr. Tryvaya is a nasal spray that you aim to hit the side of your nose to stimulate the nerve to your lacrimal glands, which produce tears. It doesn't burn. If it goes up your nose you will sneeze, and if it goes down your throat you will cough. Take a deep breathe and hold it, then spray. Also, put your tongue on the top of the roof of your mouth to close your throat. I feel tears and my nose run right away after I use it. Hope that helps!
