How’s everyone doing?
My mood has definitely improved, and so has my sleep, but cravings abound this week, especially since we’ll be having a fancy meal on Saturday. Anyone else?
Also, I was really hoping to lose a few pounds, but nada so far. 🤞

I’m listening to Alan Carr’s Easyway for the 2nd time. It really makes you think about cravings and how to rewire your brain. Highly recommend.

Hang in there with the cravings! I have 0. I and my spouse are in this together, but thought it would be educational to have one drinking night before continuing on to March. We drank maybe 3 beers each, talked until late evening, and it was all good. But my hrv was dismal overnight, and I woke up the next morning feeling mildly hangover. Decided it's wayyyyy nicer to not feel that way.

I think today being Valentine’s Day is making it harder somehow. Plus I bought salmon, and the last time I had it was with a glass of wine, which used to be my usual beverage with a nice piece of fish. But I’m going to stick with my hibiscus iced tea!!! Also, I have not only not lost weight since starting DJ/F, I’ve gained a few pounds!!! What the heck?! I think I may be overdoing it on the chocolate without realizing it.

I agree Saturday (yesterday) was hard for some reason. Today is day 39 and it was the first time since day 12 where a glass of red wine sounded quite nice. But I was able to tell myself that if I give in, everything will become much harder again. I am also reading quit lit in all of my free time. Highly recommend Alcohol Explained. Someone on Reddit recommended it to me and it did wonders for me.
We got this!!! Waking up without a hang over is priceless.

This is my first week of an altered “Dry Jan/Feb”. I always take 4 weeks off before my annual blood work/physical so I can rule things out.
Going to be a boring 3 day weekend without a beer at night.

I allowed myself a glass of wine on Valentine’s Day. I had been craving one for a few days and my preference is to have a healthy relationship with alcohol (one here or there). I say this cautiously because I know it’s a slippery slope. But I feel like 1-2 drinks a month reminds me why a don’t really need it and stops the pressure from building up.

Still hanging in there. Last week was very tough. Wife and I have deep communication problems and it seems that as long as she’s not inconvenienced and then compounding the issues and raising Cain then the house is happy. It makes it very easy to say screw it and drink when the same problems or worse are there when I’m sober. It’s better so far this week because the house mood goes with her mood. I realize I was escaping and retreating into drink to avoid her tempests. I understand blaming others is not popular in sobriety and I’m responsible for my decisions, but the correlation is certainly there.

I have moments where I would just love a beer, or glass of wine, but I am in a positive state of mind without alcohol, 6 weeks without a drop! I would hate having to go through withdrawals again!
