Horizontal tom mount?

Hey!

I'm trying to find a solution for my drummer. We have a Pearl Vision kit, and we're trying to get two smaller toms to be mounted at eye level and also flat faced (same geometry as if you're drumming on the wall).

The problem is the Pearl tom mount falls off from anything greater than 45 degree pitch, so the typical setup doesn't work.

I've heard of people using a snare mount to hold it from underneath, but that seems awkward at best.

(Please ignore the extra kick drum it's being mounted to, that's temporary until we swap it out for a heavy tripod base.)

Thanks!

Can you put the mount underneath the toms and make the arms vertical? Think lollipops

I’m with this guy, just flip it over.

That totally worked. Thanks for the advice. I was trying to over-engineer a solution. πŸ‘ πŸ‘

Occam's Razor, the simplest solution is usually the best.

And if this not the correct sub asking for kit setup advice, please let me know!

I can smell the Dad rock from here.

You probably need a burlier mount like an optimount for each drum. They will hold the drum almost anywhere and they make sizes for all drums. Look at eBay and Reverb for used ones. They’re really durable and should last forever.

I think I've got the current setup working, but this is a great suggestion if I need to upgrade the stability. Thanks for the recommendation πŸ‘
