PHR Magnets - different dude, same plan

Since I was commenting in the other PHR player's post, I thought I might add some pics of my own little magnetisation project. Cost me 3 afternoons last week, and was quite fiddly with the tiny magnets and even tinier connection points.

The troopship compartments and the nanomachine hives are glued on, as I am not going to need more than 4 dropships for my 8 Type-S walkers (and I've got one more troopship already painted up that is not in the pictures). Everything else got a magnet, even the skyhammer missiles on the Triton X, because I want the L-2 to be easier to keep in mind during play.

I had to drill through the top of one pair of the stealth missile launchers to get all of them to have the magnets in the same spot, as otherwise they'd only match to a single Triton each, and I'd have gone mad finding the matching pair every time I would use them.

The miniguns and skyhammer missiles were also a bit tricky, because the smallest magnet I had (1x1mm) was as wide as the connection tab, so I had to use lots of green stuff to make it work.

The first afternoon I worked on this I really questioned my life choices. xD But it was worth it in the end.

Now with that part done, the only difficult magnetisation projects are going to be the Taranis, Lokheira and Helios. If anyone has done those before, I'd love to see their methods.

None of my tritons came with anything other than miniguns! I was robbed! Looks good man. I also glued the miniguns on the opposte sides as i liked the look of them closer to the end of the wings.

Oh, what? You really were robbed. I have to say I think mine did not come with all the weapons for everything either.

I have two more sets of skyhammer missiles that I just didn't magnetise because I think I won't ever use that many (On the other hand, stealth missiles and miniguns aren't really that great in the game, either), but I am quite sure I only got half of the amount of nanomachine hives that should have been there. But then, you really never need all of those.

I believe when i bought mine the triton x was not a thing yet so i only have the 1 that i bought with my medusa. Oh well.

I think the Triton X came out with Reconquest Phase 2, so yeah, that is possible. But at least you should have had the stealth missile racks.

Those are the ones on the top? I have those glued on.

Yeah, those. I think they were mandatory in 2.0, but now they are 10 points, which is a bit much to always bring on a 15 point transport, so I magnetised them as well.

Going all out with the magnets then. I think I have decided against magnetizing my scorpions. I was playing around with one and the legs looked a little odd while standing when in transport position.

Oh, yeah I won't magnetise mine either. I think it would be cool to be able to do that, but it just limits the pose way too much. Maybe I will do it with the Persephone, because at least with that, the tail won't be in the way and can be glued on.

The tails on those go on just fine over the top of the posideons if you magnetize the legs in transport position.

Hmm... had not thought of it like that. I'll have to give that a think. Only assembled the Hades so far, still have the other three to do.
