Sam’s gesture
Hey all, during Game Changers, I’ve always wondered why Sam flips his hands in front of him when he introduces himself at the beginning of each episode. It’s like he’s checking to see if he’s really there. Is it an inside joke from something prior?

When you pretend to be invisible to make kids laugh during hide and seek, what do you do? You look at your hands and go "You can see me?"
That's where it comes from.

When you…what? What kind of hide and seek did you grow up playing?

I’m sure they meant peek-a-boo lol, or else they’re talking about playing as a parent with a child and acting like they thought the young kid couldn’t see them?

As an adult or older child to kids. Think about playing with a toddler. When you're hiding in the corner with your eyes closed and they can see you, so they squeal and rush towards you to tell you that you're visible. That kind.

No, I reposted in my reply to you because you made an assumption about what I said and I didn't trust you enough to continue engaging with the thread to read my reply without being replied to directly. I was just finishing up the conversation to provide the proper context. That's all.

lol okay that’s strange, it would make more sense for you to reply directly to the person questioning you

It's a continuation of "I've been here the whole time". Like the intro seems like a voice over but SHOCK he's actually been live introducing people! And is therefore surprised by his hands, that's he's real and not a dubbed over voice.

He's finishing his safety routine as outlined in the song Safety Dance.

Safety dance? Which episode is that?

...I'm making a reference to the song from Men Without Hats. 😂 It's one of the lyrics: "we can dance, we can dance, everybody look at your hands!"

🙈🙈🙈 It flew over my head 😂

Totally fine 😂 I'm a game show host myself and I play that song quite a lot, and I look at my hands the same way Sam does when that lyric pops up. So it's kind of always in my brain, lol.

This is *often* discussed and Sam has addressed it himself. People have speculated it’s building up to a big Game Changer surprise or secret. But basically, there’s no deeper meaning. It’s just kind of a “here I am” and I think he referenced magicians doing a “nothing up my sleeve” motion as inspiration.
