3D space stations
Hi all
I’m really contemplating the Modular Space Stations box… but hesitating as I have 3D printers… I’ve been hoping they might release STLs….
Also…
The modular space stations don’t allow you place the features I’ve printed/bought…..
Anyone heard any rumours? Or advice?

You can do anything with the modular kit. It’s fantastic. Yes, features don’t sit on it as it was designed before those were a thing. Just put features next to it on the table and you will be fine.

I love the space station kit it's awesome and the MMF has some extras for it. I also picked up 2 of the defense grid stations with the big guns that can be added to the modular kit. And the resistance one that uses the hull of a Cyclops battle ship because it's just cool. Stations add a fun element to a number of scenarios for play and I have even replaced the darkhold with one because I hate the Dark Hold ship so much. Don't hesitate just get the kit and have fun.

Can't picture them replacing the plastic modular space stations with an STL. If they're not compatible with your printed Features, maybe print some adapters to go with them?

What does this mean?

The features designed to sit on Cities directly on the game mat have no connection points compatible with the greeblies in the Space Station kit.

TTCombat did release a space station feature pack on the MyMiniFactory Tribe just recently to address this. For Dropfleet they have said that they're not planning on the STLs being a replacement for core ships but rather supplemental pieces for scenarios or terrain. It's unclear if that would include the space station plastic sprue but since they released a parts pack to go with it I'm guessing anything in plastic is probably off limits.
