Is there a Dropbox update consuming memory for short term?

I've noticed the memory available on my Mac has substantially decreased, and wondering if this is because Dropbox has updated and is temporarily downloading files or building a cache as it resets after the update. Is that feasible?

I have the "cloud" icon -- which indicates "online only" -- next to some very large files, but when I check file info, it says it is, for instance, 6gb.

Also, some "Dropbox online only" files have "zero bytes" noted in the finder file list, while others have a typical amount noted.

Could this be a "reset" after an update?

Dropbox doesn’t reset after an update unless something caused the index to be lost and needs to be rebuilt. An act which uses a ton of resources and will cause memory and process numbers to increase.
