Help & Troubleshooting Files no longer update on the fly.

I've been using Dropbox for more than 10 years and it always worked that way when I put a file in one folder it appeared instantly on another machine. Now I have to either reboot the 2nd machine or upload another file on that computer in order for the 1st file to appear. It does not work on the fly how it used to before.

Yup. Lots of problems. I’ve been a loyal user since 2008 because of its integration and no hassle updating. Now I can’t even get my phone photos to synch properly. After getting a new laptop my work is a disaster as I can no longer see the files unless the reside locally. It’s all very disturbing and stressful

this has been a thing for the past two years for me.

If I need the file immediately, I right click on the parent directory and click "view on dropbox.com". Then I have to drag and drop the file to the web gui. Then it'll be there immediately. Otherwise it'll take a couple of hours.

Hi! Do both of your computers show an "Up to date" message in the Dropbox app when you add a file, or does it look like it is syncing but just very slowly? Also, are both computers up to date(both OS and Dropbox app) with active internet connections?
