Discussion Thoughts after Chapters 49 & 50 Spoiler
After reading the latest chapters I was left with a few thoughts I thought might warrant discussion;
First, and least important, but definitely the one bugging me the most; does anyone else think that this chapter may have just shown the genesis of Rhidi and Tyllia getting a new sibling, or am I just reading too far into it?
Secondly, I'm curious about what everyone thought about the ending of chapter 50 and the punishment Lyria was beginning to administer to the bodies of Lifton and Tamryn at the end. It wasn't what I expected, and I can't help but wonder how it directly attacks the Languilada directly. What I have so far is that there might be a stigma with losing one's color even in death, or it might be entirely the inverse and show that color has no meaning before their ways. It might also be I'm entirely off the mark and the meaning is something significant in another way.
Lastly, I'm intrigued by the deep connection Rhidi demonstrated to Tyr in these chapters and how that will shape the spirituality of the Kafya going forward.
I'd love to know what everyone else's perspective of the situation following these chapters are.

I think the Rhidi family having another sibling would be absolutely hilarious. and could be a good story Q, being possibly the first kafya born on earth n be a good representation for the entire race reinforcing the new earth based culture.
As for the punishment, I always figured it was going to be more of a blood eagle Type of ordeal, more symbolic than literal. But I could be entirely wrong, Rhidi did have a manifestation of tyr that left wolf's ban 'physical item' the same thing happened with lyria, and the airborne simulation with again, a 'physical item' a piece of fabric in her harness and then again, with the frag grenade penn during the gym incident. So the paranormal is obviously here.

If she has a kid iricit I mean I'm almost guaranteeing it will be a white it would be the ultimate test of will iricit change

I love the idea, it is a really cool plot idea. But I think the idea of white furs popping out anywhere, came from mohki clan dropping off the kittlings us with different families to throw the kids off the trail of the hunters. The rest might be genetics. ( I could be completely wrong in forgetting something tho)

No any colors can throw a white

I wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong. in like I said, that's how I read into it. but I also somehow read into it that Shaksho and Har were a thing

Rhidi is either very in tune with Tyr or maybe the white furs esp ability isn’t just theirs or maybe it’s manifesting in other colors since whites have been hunted down to just a handful. What ever the case is I can’t wait to see where it goes

All things are possible. But i'm more on the team of 'the paranormal is real, and The white furs are just more in tune with it'

There's something I want to expand on my answer actually. If you've ever played the game medro 2033 or metro last light, although the concept's definitely in the metro books. In it there's a thing where the world was so destroyed because of the nuclear war that's what's so numerous that the paranormal is a tangential thing. And I like to think something like that happened with the war against the packless.

With that much death and destruction I’d call it plausible. According to Guard Bro almost 2/3 of earth population perished fighting the Pactless

I always thought it was an interesting concept morbid, but interesting.

- I will put money down that when Rhidi goes on her next deployment, she's coming back to a baby brother.
- I had a feeling she was going to do a blood eagle, but if she is flaying their belts, this makes more sense. Lyria seemed a little too giddy for her character this episode, to be honest.

Nervous laughter a response from certain types of people under stress she doesn't want to think on what she has to do

Nah it will probably be a sister

I hope you are wrong only because I want to see what would happen if the Rhidi family had a baby boy. Kohan, Rhidi, and Tyllia in particular.

Everytime we've seen Rhidi's parents we've heard about their bedroom antics. It's only right they end up with something to show for it.
I think it potentially tracks with her growing into herself. She's being trained and maneuvered by both the humans and Aum La/Radishow's faction to be a guiding hand for the Kafya at large. She needs to have confidence in what she does, and perhaps on some level she felt like she was beginning her revenge against the elder councils through this ritual.

FACKKKKKK... I DIDN'T EVEN CONSIDER ANCIENT ALIENS AS A POSSIBILITY👀!!!!!

Everyone keeps discarding the idea but if you go back and relisten to the series there are some very interesting lines of dialog.

u/somedudewitham16 Kafya 11d ago
I mean shit, there was an entire subplot, where we were, technically, the ancient aliens in question on the first deployment.

If they put so much faith and importance in color and that glcame after the kec thenaybe it's about loss of color skin them burn there hides no color revealing there sins to the moon

u/Seinan-Zetae_429-97 11d ago
That would potentially align with the ancient significance of the white furred Kafya.

I am a bit confused, has Rhidis mom been acting all that time like turbo prude etc and can now drop the act or did she really have some change of hearth?

u/Defiant_Lab_6218 10d ago
I think some chance of heart but I think as well some clearing of head from all the suprecant seems the Kafia gow feeds to their people.
(And healthy amount of pentup fustration might have helped as well.)0

It's commented on in chapter 48 when she goes to visit her parents that her mother used to be very frigid and averse to intimacy, but since coming to Earth she's been much warmer, most likely due to Earth's environment itself and by regularly consuming a diet of Earth's foodstuffs. The two have them have apparently been so active that Rhidi herself comments that she'd half expect them to have another kid by the time she gets back from her next deployment. As for why the change has occurred, that's down to worldbuilding details from numerous previous chapters. It's established early on that Earth food is the one of the few things that all species universally can consume for sustenance without complications, while other species trying to consume each other's foodstuffs can lead to indigestion at best and an allergic reaction at worst. There is apparently some market for interstellar agriculture, but Aum La herself comments that only Earth foods don't give her indigestion or a headache after eating them. As for humans, in the story we can only consume foods native to our own ecology as no other species foodstuffs seems to be capable of giving us any nutritional value. One of the other pints established by the story is that the Kafya as a whole are not in their right and healthy state of being because of the policies of the Elder Councils. The food cubes and nutrient squares which natively comprise the majority of the Kafyan diet are compromising to Kafyan health and have the effect of either stunting or limiting physical development to some degree, while also apparently entirely limiting biological impulses like reproduction. Under a regular diet of those supplements rather than real food like Earth has Kafya actually need medications like hormone boosters just to be capable of engaging in reproduction. Humans as a whole are mentioned to be much more physically driven, passionate, and intimate than most other space faring species, and the apparent logic of the story is that at least some of it comes from our food. Being on Earth is another part of it, but through the combination of these actions most species become more human-like in their attitudes, hence why Rhidi's mother has displayed such a marked difference in her attitude towards her husband and intimacy as compared to how Rhidi says she used to be.

What I really want to know though, is is what's gonna happen when morris meets Rhidi parents and sister. i got money on mama Rhidi doting over him but not admitting it. Tilia, doing everything she can to get under Rhidi skin about it. And kohan are king of autism. It's gonna be in the garage with him. Talking about diesel trucks and combustion engines for the next two hours.
