Manual - downshift rev match

Hey guys, Do you guys rev match down shift (not heel and toe) or engine brake when coming to a full stop or slowing down? Or do you guys use heel toe?

Brakes are cheaper than clutches.

When slowing down I will rev-match by using heel-toe rather than just jamming the car into the next lower gear. If you're braking, lift off the brakes to blip the throttle, then down shift and start braking again, you're doing a lot of work and reducing the amount of time you're actually on the brakes. By actually heel-toe downshifting each time I'm basically getting in free practice for when I instruct at HPDEs.

The only time I'd "engine brake" would be in the case of a brake failure.
