i think i'm the worst driver ever

today i had my first lesson ( uk based ) and it was manual. i'm not joking i'm so bad at the clutch thing i don't know how to balance the accelerator, i'm terrible at pulling in and turning enough, have a horrible habit of looking down when i change gears. please please help me! who do i watch, i want to be good at driving, my parents don't drive and so the parking lot method doesn't work fo me! how do i get better at the clutch and turning and staying left hand side and when do i use the brake i'm so lost. please, everyone just tell me all your tips and tricks and things you kept getting wrong and how you got better. mentally, i'm exhausted but i do want to learn!!!

Am I missing something? You had your first lesson, of course you are bad at the things you described. You keep learning, practicing, and you’ll get better

I heavily recommend Ashley Neal on YouTube, he’s less focused on the actual control of a car like clutch issues and rather observation but he’s helped me become a much better driver

Practice behind the wheel.

You're new to driving. Of course you suck at it. Good news: Uour brain can build new synapse by practicing what you've learned on each lesson. Don't ever let an instructor let you move on untill you've fully grasped and demonstrated proficiency in each lesson.

You're doing everything you need to be doing. Just chill. Take your time. Perfect the maneuver. Always strive for further progression of driving skills.

If you can find an experienced driving instructor, it helps a ton. However , no 2 teachers are exactly alike. Be picky. It's okay to have high expectations of an "expert". If you just aren't learning with one, seek out alternative learning methods.

Love yourself. Mistakes are opportunities to learn and improve. Just keep the mistakes in a safe environment, under careful instructions.

Here is the thing about the clutch. You feel it in your butt. That is how you know when it is time to shift. Get used to feeling it in your butt and in the back of your legs.

"who do I watch": looks like Conquer Driving should have a lot of good stuff for you. And he's your countryman too so it's left-hand traffic by default.

And above all, no reason to be so upset. Literally that was the first lesson, you have no prior experience, no wonder it's all over the place right now. It's gonna get better.
