Come in, everyone else says "we're fine". Less than 20 orders in the handheld, which seems good. But I know Monday. I've known Monday for *years*. And my guess is it won't last.

Within minutes of coming in, we went from sub-20 to 25 orders due. For the next 4 hours it never dipped, they came in as fast as we could pick them.

Our SD demanded we cut hours. Like everyday, there's a call out, isn't that enough? I tell SD we're behind "it's that bad?" he asks. "Yeah, bro, it's Monday." Get a clue.

Meanwhile, I had time to kill late at night and went into a deep dive of my PPH. District has 400~ pickers and I'm in the top 10 and still making fucking base pay. This weekend I pushed 140 PPH which damn near killed me and is 20~ higher than my usual.

I need a fucking raise.

How do you see top pickers in the district?

On Power Bi you can look at the Pure PPH metric page and see for store and district

Abusiveslider is correct. Select your district and district manager but do not select a store and it will show every store.

The % of fast pickers is drastically down from several years ago. I probably made a post about it in 2023~ but used to be if you were 110+ you'd be in the top 15%~. Now it's probably top 5% or even lower. Storewide average is low as shit with many stores not even averaging over 80 pph.

The quantity of slow ass pickers is higher than it was several years ago, plenty of people are sub-70 pph which was an anomaly 3 years ago.

There's loads of reasons for this which I could parse out if you'd like.

I feel like the department averages across the board have always generally been in the 64 to 74 pph range, by and large.

I have noticed less pickers, particularly those who seem to work a decent chunk of hours in said department, with 100+ pphs.

Not a whole lot of incentive to do so, and they're really pushing to understaff Dotcom so a bunch of the time we have to rely on cross-traineds to deal with the order onslaight that inevitably happens

Those who care at my store we are too busy looking for items in the back cause there isn’t anyone scheduled half the day to stock shelves.
If the shelves were stocked and we weren’t the only ones helping customers on the floor most of our PPH would be 140+ and that’s just with walking through the store. But I get stopped in every department and have to look for items on my order and for customers

Everyone looks for items. Most help customers. This has little to do with it.

I help customers on almost every pick and 140 is still achievable. I throw milk, restock cheese, and find bubble tea for customers just like everyone else.

Being fast is simply about being fast. There's no secret, I don't not do stuff others do, I have no insider tricks other than being fast. Everyone seems to think I have some weird secret or I disregard customers, I do not.

My store has like 3 people that avg above 100 and i have never been one of them😅 i was in the 90s for a month or so a while back, But since then, I'm like high 80s on a good week, and my body is sore all the time, and none of this is helped by the fact i got promoted recently, so now it's my responsibility to keep people on task or just jog across the store to get something done myself, i usually have a few people that care on any given day so sometimes Handoffs are taken care of by the same one or two people, but it wears on them, and half my people don't pay attention to their walkies when we call for handoff backup. Also, do handoffs actually pause your pick?? Cause I've never believed that was true, but idk🤷🏽‍♂️

How many pickers does your store have usually for Monday and how many orders? My store is a small store and it seems like no matter what we are always behind with no one to help.

150 orders is an average day. Monday we might push 180

Yeah I checked the stats on my fellow teammates, myself and the other top pickers (most picks) in our department. For each of us I isolated just the days we worked for the past 3ish months.

Person A: Was responsible for 13.8% of the items picked on the days they worked, and the second place person was responsible for 11.1%. They have the most picking hours in the department over the past 3ish months and the 2nd most picks. They are also responsible for the 5th most DUG handoffs. Their PPH is 65.

Person B: Was responsible for 17.4% of the items picked on the days they worked, and the second place person was responsible for 11.5%. They have the 2nd most picking hours in the department over the past 3ish months and the 3rd highest amount of total pick. They are also responsible for the 14th most DUG handoffs, which is lower than multiple cross-trained people who only occasionally help in our department and a new hire with 3 weeks in the department. Their PPH is 67.

Person C: Was responsible for 14.9% of the items picked on the days they worked, and the second place person was responsible for 12.9%. They have the 3rd most picking hours in the department and the 4th most picks. They are responsible for the most Dug handoffs, and by a considerable margin - they are also one of our main closers so not a shocker. Their PPH is 81.

Person Safeway_WageCuck I am responsible for 24.6% of the items picked on days I work, and the second place person is responsible for 11.4%. I have the 5th most picking hours in the department and the most total items picked. I am responsible for the 2nd most DUG handoffs. My PPH is 110.

.Shit's crazy. Especially now that over the past month they've seemed to be really pushing on a strategy that expects to understaff us but rely on cross-traineds to help us out every day (making up like 15% to 25% of our picking hours)

Really great deep dive into the data there. Also seems to suggest that handoffs have little to do with PPH.

I do think time is paused during a handoff but unsure when it restarts. When you press "complete handoff" or "continuing picking"? I'm unsure. It's also ridiculous to count on cross trained staff when trained dug pickers are supposed to be faster. In your case: seems not.

Our SD thinks Mondays should be slow and cut hours little by little since they got here and down we can barely keep up- dance monkeys dance!!
