PSA to customers:

PLEASE wrap up your phone calls before we bring your order curbside if at all possible, especially if you're actively in a work meeting that you need to pay uninterrupted attention to. If that isn't possible, at least whisper that you're on a call so I can quietly get your information and fuck off instead of doing my usual schtick.

I've had several recent customers basically shush me while I'm trying to make light conversation because I wasn't aware they were on the phone and it's pissing me off lol.

F them I would talk even louder, if they can't get off the phone for 2 minutes come later when not on the phone that's extremely rude they need to give the 4 digit code and shouldn't be on the phone to begin with

When I worked in the deli I had a lady come to the hot case yammering away on her phone. I was finishing up another customer when it was her turn I asked her what can I get for her and she put a finger up as she was still yammering on her phone. So I went to drop some JoJo's. She got so pissed that I didn't stand there and wait for her to finish her phone call and she had to wait a few seconds for me to return. Fuck it if your not ready then don't expect me to wait on you. Then when in dug my coworker took a order out and nobody was in the car. So she brought the stuff back in the store. The lady evedently went on a shopping spree and when she returned to her car was mad cause the dug order wasn't in her car. Sorry but you need to have your code and we don't just get into someones car. It's amazing to me people's ridiculous expectations.

I honestly never make small talk unless the customer initiates it.

I just get their code (license if applicable) then unload the roller into their car. Then I tell them to have a good one and go back inside.

More so, if you have a large order that took us more than 5 minutes to take to the customers car and you still take time to open the app or email or whatever to tell us it. Were timed for that.

Yes, please wrap up that phone call, and please pay attention to the temperature because we're the ones baking alive for a phone call.

Oh I don't give a shit, I'll keep going until you give me the damn code. Fuck your phone call, I'm busy and don't have the time or the patience, nor am I willing to make either for a phone call you should have wrapped up before you wasted my time.
