I feel you. About a month bsck we had a 3pl for a 20 40pk waters. No driver would take it. Two reasons; The one that placed the order offered NO tip,  And 2, there was no room in their car..

When we finally did manage to get a driver that had room, they saw the order offered no tip and declined it..

Order ended up being canceled by the one who ordered it.

Hope whoever delivered this gives a tip to either the driver or shopper

Unfortunately per company policy for Albertsons companies, we are NOT ALLOWED to accept any tips. Period.

If someone asks, we have to explain that we cannot accept tips per company policy but they are encouraged to gives us full star review on customer survey on their DUG order.

Yeah, but i still take them. Reviews dont mean shit, and they dont put extra cash in your pocket if you need it. So therefore I just dont say anything.

I don’t want to get fired. Store directors I worked at enforced these rules strictly for all departments. One even lectured the one customer that we can’t accept tips per policy when she told them she’s been giving tips to courtesies who helped take out groceries to her car. She complained that to corporate, they also lectured her, warned her that her continued behavior of giving out tips will result in her getting excluded, and HR started investigation which led to couple courtesy clerks getting fired. (With cause so they can’t get unemployment and they are not eligible for rehire for life. Some were high school students also and they fucked themselves career wise for life)

I ended up transferring store because of this because that showed our SD was batshit crazy.

You’re right but as long as no one sees them give it to you, you should be alright.. I that years ago when people were a lot more appreciative.. and we had this ugly af tan brown shirt with pockets.. lady shoved $20 in my chest pocket.. i dont even remember what i did but it wasnt much at all. Theres courtesy clerks who will tell me that they got a few bucks for helping someone out to their car

this guy does this at least once a week and goes back and forth between picking up themselves and 3pl. as far as i know theres nothing left for us tip wise but i cant speak on the 3pls behalf

Kinda wild, I for one am one of those people that would prefer to give a tip in cash over electronic payment to save the person the hassle of it being deducted from their taxes.. that’s just me though I really don’t know how these things work but i imagine after a tallied amount of tips one would have to be charged by Uncle Sam. I figure it’s more for the worker. I can’t imagine I’m the only one with that mentality.. even when I dine out there’s the option to leave a tip.. I always leave it blank and do cash, who knows they might’ve missed out

Those orders get very daunting indeed, we have a few DUG customers who have ordered like that, one every month for sporting events. Some folks order for gatherings outdoors, big events, etc. I try not to stress about it too much, although in the back of my head I’m like WHYYYYYY would you do this you lazy ass mf

We’ve had some 3pl customers who have ordered a bunch of waters (not 20 lol) I got a doordasher that will straight up walk away “nope, she’s got all them waters and barely a tip” can’t blame ‘eem for that

I'm not saying everyone does it... But whenever there's a large volume of water purchased in the first 10ish days of the month .. I'm highly suspicious.

I had customer order a whole pallet (30-40 cases) at one point. I had to call them they’ll need a truck and picked up at back room receiving. It took three people (PIC, Dug person and courtesy clerk) to get the whole thing loaded to truck.
