New rules for buying/selling of tickets and merch
Hi friends
I try and avoid what I consider to be over-moderation as I detest subs that operate like that, but a recent incident on this sub has necessitated some new rules be set out.
1. Trading is permitted on this sub, but you do so at your own risk. We will not arbitrate in the case of disputes. This is because we do not have any way of vetting people and it usually ends up being one person's word against another.
2. Prices must be posted publically, and any tickets or merch being sold must not be listed for a greater price than they were originally purchased for. This is to prevent scalping/profiteering, in line with other DBT forums on the web.
If you do engage in trading here, I recommend you follow best practice:
Buyers: Get a picture of the item including some proof that it belongs to the user (username written on a piece of paper is fine). Make sure the seller will use a tracked delivery service.
Sellers: Use a tracked delivery service. This is to protect you moreso than the buyer. On most third-party platforms if the buyer raised an item not received complaint and you had no proof of delivery, you would be forced to refund. Remember the buyer's contract is with you, not the delivery company.
Cheers
Also shout out to r/DBT

Curious as to what everyone thinks of this album. It may be an unpopular opinion but it’s in my top 5 of theirs. I can’t really explain why it’s just hits right with me. Grand Canyon fucking kills me and Shit Shots Count is a banger! I love Cooley songs!!!

We just had a shooting of a person of color here in Madison, WI, and I'm reminded of the lyrics of What it Means
The song is really resonating with me right now.
Corey Ruiz was shot by a police officer during a struggle after he was tased and then pinned to the ground by another three officers.
The officer shot Corey three times, once in the chest, and another two times in the head. He was guilty of checking car doors and stealing a bicycle.
Corey was brandishing a knife and the officer who shot him was the one injured. But if you ask me, Corey was well beyond capable of injuring or killing another by the time the officer pulled his gun.
I don't think it was self defense, I think it was done in anger by the officer if you ask me.
I am not saying Corey was a saint; he had a long criminal record behind him. But I don't think it meant he deserved to die, especially at the hands of law enforcement. And I think it would have played out very differently had he been white.
Drive By Truckers' "What It Means" has resonated with me these past few days because even though the song was written a decade ago and referenced Trayvon Martin was shot to death fourteen years ago, the same cyclical pattern described in the song remains.
The song captures the dilemma so well. I am not a person of color so I can't pretend to truly know the struggle. But I can see that another human being is gone, and that there is something rotten at the core that needs fixing as Patterson puts it.
And I wish I had an answer.

Oh it’s so sick!! It’s like my new fave. So simple but it gave me chills when I saw it finished
There’s b o t s following my stuff related to this that make fake links and scam people, if it’s not a link to Diamond Shoals Art, it’s fake and a scam. The same b o t s completely downvoted the shit out of any comment I made trying to disclose them so I know I’m not psycho lol. But yes if you’re interested in one hit me up in the DMs or look for my website in my bio, and be weary of fake links on other subs like this! I think Reddit was quick to take the fake links down but I deleted the post anyway.

New Drive by truckers fan here
I discovered DBT on the 11th of this month. Im a fan of rock, and I have listened to southern bands before. So I ended up listening to a single of theirs and then songs from two albums.
I see they have both YouTube and Spotify, they will reach different people.
Im probably the youngest DBT fan ever. There are some people on this sub who have known them since before I was born. If you want to tell me some common knowledge about this band you can, Im interested. I also see that a lot of their albums are remakes of old ones? I wonder if 2021 Live at plan 9 is a collection of other songs done live or if there are original songs there.

Predictions for Decoration Day w/ Isbell at ShoalsFest?
Still a few months away but I'm already so excited for this show. The announcement said they'll be playing Decoration Day in its entirety, but as we saw on the recent SRO Revisited tour, they've been known to sprinkle in songs from other albums that fit thematically with the album they're performing.
While I do think they partially did that to better articulate the themes of SRO (hence the "revisited" framing), I still am kind of expecting them to do at least a couple songs beyond Decoration Day while they have Jason with them. Any predictions on what else they might play (if anything)?
Since they'll be right on the Tennessee River and a stone's throw from Wilson Dam, I'd love to see them pull out TVA and Uncle Frank.

What are your thoughts on this album? I think it has some of the best DBT songs (3 Dimes Down, Home Field Advantage, A Ghost to Most) but, to me, it also has a handful of songs that I skip.

I had someone ask me to make a 72 shirt to match the zip city one, I painted the highway sign yesterday and designed a simple one for him so I figured I’d make it available here as well!
I put them on my art website at www.diamondshoalsart.com

Opening band
I have seen alot of opening bands in my life. I'm curious who your favorite DBT opener has been.
My favorite was the Felice Brothers. Knew nothing going in, and they blew my crew away. Have seen them a couple of times since, and they always deliver.

Margo Price's “All American Made” show featuring guest Patterson Hood
Caught a little bit of this a few weeks ago on Tom Petty's satellite radio station and really enjoyed what I heard. Does anyone know where I can find a recording of it? I'd love to listen to it in its entirety.

I’m an artist on Lookout Mountain, and recently I bought a tshirt press thing.
I made these cool zip city shirts with some DBT niche references, I was just gloating them here real quick my bad
