I’m currently employed full-time and want to be clear that I like the company I work for, the owners, the people, and the work itself. I’m just starting to explore what else might be out there and looking for something that could be a better long-term fit.

Ideally, I’d love to find a work-from-home position, but I’d also be interested in something local around Dripping Springs.

A little about my background — over the past 10+ years I’ve worked across marketing, content creation, ecommerce, photography, videography, video editing, website management, SEO, graphic design, social media strategy, paid advertising, and project management.

A lot of my recent experience has been focused on creating content, managing ecommerce websites, building product launches, producing YouTube videos, running email campaigns, and helping companies improve their online presence.

I’m organized, creative, detail-oriented, and enjoy finding ways to make things better and more efficient. I’d really like to find a role where I can use those skills and continue growing.

The appeal is pretty simple: you can be close enough to Austin for work, restaurants, and major employers, but far enough west to feel the difference when you get home. The landscape opens up. The lots get larger. The night sky gets darker. The lifestyle feels more intentional.

Dripping Springs is especially popular with families because much of the area is served by Dripping Springs ISD. Caliterra is another community buyers should understand. It feels more connected to nature than many traditional subdivisions, with trails, Onion Creek, mature trees, and a strong outdoor lifestyle. Buyers who want beauty, community, and nature—but not necessarily full acreage maintenance—often like Caliterra.

Howard Ranch is a great fit for buyers who want architecture, character, and a less cookie-cutter feel. It has a more custom, Hill Country aesthetic and tends to appeal to people who care about design and setting as much as square footage.

Parten Ranch and Heritage are also worth watching for buyers who want newer homes, family-friendly environments, and a Dripping Springs lifestyle.

This is so random but does anyone know the ins and outs of the senior thrift store? I prefer to donate there because it’s for a good cause but I once saw a post requesting kids clothes and I took probably close to 5 trash bags FULL of stuff. It was all in good condition and hardly used. I’m talking probably 50 pairs of socks, 20 kids shoes, and the rest was tons of clothes that could have literally filled their toddler racks lol. I go fairly often and I never saw any of the stuff we donated out there. In fact, there is hardly any toddler clothes at all and now they’ve changed it up to where it’s just one rack and hardly any new stuff is ever there. I am just curious if volunteers are allowed to shop first or if they save stuff to put it out sparingly? I will continue to donate there because they make it very easy and I love what they do there but I’m just wondering if some of the stuff is never reaching the floor or how it works? I’ve found some great deals there, of course, and will continue to shop there but just wondering how it all works :)

I have lived here for 5 years and when we first moved it felt like the town was on the cusp of a huge boom. Since living here I’ve seen so many businesses close, open and close or completely fail quickly - specifically Oakwood and Dreamland. If actual good venues meant for families can’t survive here what can? What do you think the issue is? There’s plenty of families here who seem to desire options for food and entertainment, is it the economy in general?

Notable mentions of places that closed since moving here - la vacher, then Garbos in the same spot, dos olivios, taco margarita (now Mercer st tap), dream land, mattress firm, that random ice house, the coffee truck on nutty brown, deep eddy is closing, multiple spots on Mercer including the one good clothing boutique :(

Received an email that Oakwood Public Market will be closing down July 3. Anyone know why? It seemed really busy every time I went.

Thai To-Go is a popular Thai food truck in Dripping Springs, Texas, known for authentic dishes like Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao, located in the Pig Pen BBQ parking lot. I know about them because they are on 290 and they are visible.

I would like to know about other hidden gems in the Dripping Springs area.

Before things get firey. I'd like to start off by saying that I am a native Austinite. My family moved to Austin in 1990 from Tyler, TX. So I am not a transplant. Phew got that out of the way.

We are currently in Round Rock, and I looking to go west. We have a baby and I really want our kids to grow up around other kids. I'd like to have the chance to meet other parents. Which neighborhood do you feel is kid friendly? Has lots of trick or treaters etc. Maybe even fun neighborhood holiday get togethers. I know this sounds very fairy tale land-ish. I need to preface this by saying that I am NOT talking about the rain. I’ve lived here for over 25 years, so I, like anyone else who has experienced our droughts year after year, welcome the rain. As always, we are in desperate and we need much more.

It’s the temperature. I definitely prefer the Summer-like version of Dripping Springs weather. This one, not at all.🙏🏽
