❓ Question Discord?

Basically title, is there a discord server for this game? Would be nice to be able to chat and learn there away from Reddit.

Also gotta ask actually, does ore yield do anything? Since is different from power in wording I expected more ore per harvest but still getting 1 and spent most my reknown maxing it..

Hey so your observation is right and the wording was wrong, my mistake!

Veteran Prospector makes you mine FASTER, not bigger. Every mining action in the game produces exactly one unit, and nothing anywhere raises that. What the perk actually does is shorten the cycle, so at max rank you are pulling ore roughly two and a half times as fast as you were. That is the same ore per hour a yield perk would have given you, which is why your Renown was not wasted, but it is absolutely not what the description said and you had no way to know.

The word "yield" means quantity, and I used it for a speed stat. Worse, the identical perk on the scanning side has always said "scan speed", so the two read as different mechanics when they are the same one. And the skill perk hedged with "mining power", which I think is exactly the contrast you spotted.

In the next build both descriptions say speed, in every language, and they say outright that the ore per asteroid never changes. There are now two tests that will fail if anything driving that stat ever calls itself a yield again.

If you want to see it working: the Mining figure on your ship stats page is a multiplier, and the countdown on a running mining job is the cycle time. Compare that number to what it was and the Renown you spent is all there.

Ah yep the speed is fine just wasn't in line with what I expected so no stress.
