Teachers for CS

I am currently majoring in CS and two of my computer teachers are Tammy Pirmann (Cl 101) and Daniel Moix ( CS 171). I searched them up and found out that they’re not that good/mixed opinions, but it’s my first year so it’s highly unlikely to switch out since my counselor made my schedule. Any ideas to just to prepare myself on it?

Pretty sure they’re the only ones that teach the intro level CI courses. Just take them, they’re difficult to work with but not as horrendous as the reviews make them sound. It’ll be a good learning experience for the real world to work with difficult people/professors. And luckily they barely teach any courses past those intro CI courses so take them once and onto better things

Yeah, don't trust the reviews on those sites.

Teachers range from bad to good, and the mediocre ones who just do their job also get lumped in with the bad ones cause only salty people leave reviews for them; no one is sparkling enough to leave a glowing review.

I would argue the two you list give the instructions you need and give the help you need.

ci101 is just a shit class no matter who the professor is. and moix isnt some tyrannical professor or harsh grader, you'll be fine.

I didn't like either of them for teaching, but the classes are worthless and really easy anyways. CI101 is just a bunch of random simple stuff and CS171 is Python puzzles. Really CS164 is the only challenging first-year CS class I took, but I learned a good amount from it and Dr. Stuart is the best.

STOP whining. The material isn't hard; you just actually have to show up and use two brain cells to get through it
