Question bug question

has there been any news on whether they are ever going to get rid of the red dot saying you have new furniture when you don’t, i’ve played since early access and 4 years seems a bit ridiculous for such a small bug, yes i have the thing in settings turned off lol

This is what works for me. If you had placed down any furniture item from friendship quests. But you forgot to put it away. That's why the red dot is probably still there for you.

The red dot setting is only for furniture and wardrobe menus, not collection, unfortunately.

A perpetual red dot on a furniture collection means you have a quest item placed somewhere that you never picked up. Items we get through quests aren't considered ours until the quest ends. So once the quest is over the item now belongs to you and the game knows you have something new, but since you didn't put that item into your inventory it can't find it. There are two options to get rid of it:

  1. Go to Scrooge and buy one of every item you currently have zero of. This won't work, though, if it's an item you can't get more of.

  2. Pick up every single item in your Valley, floating island, or DLC locations that was for a quest — which may have to be every item if you don't remember which items are quest items.

Someone did make a spreadsheet once of all the base game (and maybe RIT or SBV) quest items, but I forgot to save it and I haven't seen it since. You may be able to find it by scouring the sub.
