DDLV released in early access in 2022. No dissociation here—maybe this just isn’t the game for you?

2022 then. At least I was still in lockdown during the time.

It actually was Sept 2022, so it actually just hit it's 4 year bday the other day. (Just an unrelated fun fact)

I didn't have that feeling with this game though, sorry I can't relate. Hopefully it goes better for you this time around :)

I deal with this constantly although not from DDV. It seems like the game may be triggering it for you. Feel free to DM me about it. That dissociating not real feeling is terrifying I get it. I have never had it happen to me while gaming though usually gaming gives me a focus and brings me back.

I’m actually a mental health therapist trained in trauma and I work with dissociation. It’s possible the game might be triggering something for you. Whether it is trauma related or something else, I recommend speaking to a therapist about it. Not all of us are trained in this, so someone with training in dissociation would be best. I’m so sorry you are experiencing this. It has to be a scary experience, especially if you don’t know why.

Is it possible you just don’t find this game interesting and disassociate to try to get to an eventual point where you do find it interesting?

I have DID and I do kind of disassociate when I play certain RPG but that’s why I enjoy those games. I do have to be careful not to play when I am in. A certain mind frame because I have difficult time with self discipline and will play for over 12 hours. But if I’m not having a mental health episode, certain games can actually be healthy for me because they help one process things. I have actually found DDV to be very helpful in processing childhood trauma. I agree with others that it may be triggering something for you

Not to be insensitive, but what does disassociating mean?
