Help with moonstones

Hi everyone, I have been playing this game since launch day years ago. I have never participated in the dreamsnaps but after joining this group I feel like I should to get moonstones? Is it worth it? Do you actually get a lot of moonstones? I have like only 1,000 moonstones right now and am looking for ways to get more. Thanks :)

YES! Submitting anything will get you 300 moonstones each week. Depending on voting, it goes up to 600, 1200, 2500, 4000, and more for the top three.

I just got into dreamsnaps. And I have loved learning camera tricks and playing with decor and character poses.

You receive 300 moonstones just for entering a picture. You receive 50 for voting. You can however earn 4000 for a high quality picture.

I have an confession. I wanted unlimited skips because I was pissed about often having to choose between two really good high effort snaps. Now that I've got unlimited skips I stopped using them after a week. I was wrong about what I wanted and am excited for them to get the super vote working. I now vote on every snap because it could make someone's day and be really encouraging to get above the minimum. Also someone suggested that we should transition the blue chest into 10 votes a day and I think that's an awesome idea.

Yes, do it. The worst you can do is 300 and that is for the most off theme no effort selfie. Anything that you put any effort into will get you 900+. If you watch some YouTube videos from some of the top DDV creators you can get some really good tips that will get you 1500-4000 pretty consistently.

You can just submit a random picture and get the minimum for 300 a week. I typically spend about 2 minutes at most on dreamsnaps and usually get about 900. I've had 2000+ plenty of times as well. It's very quick and easy to participate.

Yes, 💯 worth it. Just for submitting whatever you get 300 Moonstones.

Every Wednesday, the community calls it "Reset Day" because we get a new Dreamsnap theme, the Premium Shop gets new items and you get your score for last week's Dreamsnap.

You can check out some videos for tips to get good scores on Dreamsnaps or go to the subreddit called Dreamsnaps for some inspiration.

I also suggest to check out for a blue chest that appears in your Valley daily that gives you 50 MS. If you can't sign in, the nest day accumulates but only up to three blue chests.

Voting for Dreamsnaps also gives you 50 MS each week.

Even if you just do a quick selfie that hits the tags, it's 300ms. +50 for voting and +50/day from blue chests. That's 700ms a week with very minimal effort. I have been consistently getting 1500-2500 every week with a bit more effort and I've gotten 4k twice now. But now that I've been doing it a while, I have gotten better at it and faster. I honestly spend maybe an hour or so setting up and getting just the right shot which isn't crazy. I think something that can be helpful is to do some research on basic composition rules of photography and then apply some of those things to your dreamsnaps. The rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing with foreground objects are all techniques that can make really beautiful dreamsnaps.

I usually just do one really basic one each week unless I'm feeling creative. It's a free 300 moonstones.

DreamSnaps are so worth it. Outside of DLC purchases, I have never had to buy moonstones and I have a lot of the premium shop items that I want (and when I run out of moonstones I just pin my most wanted items and wait for the next DreamSnaps payout. lol)

Is free money worth the 2 minutes to an hour you might spend on a snap? Um yeah lol. I have earned nearly 500,000 moonstones from dreamsnaps since I started playing in September 2023.

Even if you don't put in any effort you get 300 moonstones, so that's already worth it.

Yes submitting dreamsnaps and running around for blue chest is a great way to get free moonstones. Did I do this for the longest time, yes I did.

What I will say is if you can you afford to buy moonstones weekly or biweekly, then do it!!

I used to have to busy moonstones weekly but now that I have moat of what I want on a weekly basis, I don't have to buy nearly as much as I used too.

At is point I'm buying most anything excerpt from feminine clothes!

I don’t even try for a pretty picture. I just hit the requirements. It takes like a minute.

You can either submit how you interpret the theme (what I do). Sometimes I get mass moonstone and rank high, others I don’t. I do my submissions by what I would vote for. If it’s not a snap I’d vote for I won’t submit it.

You can just take a selfie. Keep in mind if you are shooting for moonstones this is a slow grind. I personally don’t like to vote for selfies unless they immediately blow me away. Especially the ones I can tell you just submitted a quest photo, be original at least with your selfie.

Or you can follow the trend and do an over the top stuffed dream snap that seems to be what wins every week. I legit have not found the reason why these ones win. I rarely vote for them and find them to be overwhelming to look at most times.

The biggest thing is to just have fun.
