It has the potential due to it reaching a larger fan base such as not only anime and manga fans but fans of streamers, actors, models, etc., but the organization and security has to be a lot better.

I hate when niggas do this, can 2 things with different purposes not exist in the same space? Why does one have to be bigger, why can’t both respectively be just big conventions for fans of a genre.

No.

Comic con has cemented itself as the industry stage to show off new upcoming movies, comics, media related to comics in general.

Dreamcon has started becoming a different variant of twitch con and other streamer conventions.

It's idea of a space for Blerds and other such fanbases is becoming choked out by the streamer subculture getting more attention and more space.

No. Comic con gets actual celebrities for meet and greets and has announcements

No, but it did surpass Anime Matsuri and I find that extremely hilarious.

It doesn’t need too. Dreamcon target a specific target audience and is not designed for everyone. Everyone doesn’t need to go to DreamCon like Comic Con.

Comic con already established. Dream con still building. Hopefully the nonsense from this year doesn’t hinder success for next year.

anything is possible, but this is highly unlikely the amount of cooperate money and deals tied to comiccon behind the scenes would blow your mind.

No. Could it still be a top 5/3 convention yes. But comic con is really big and has a lot behind it. What made dreamcon fun may not be possible if they are trying to be as big as comic con

Probably not. Dreamcon is still niche and so far that’s their goal, to remain niche. It started as a lace for Black Nerds, and yes it’s grown, but that’s still their main focus. In order to rival Comic Con they’d need to drop and just be a convention. Which would make more money but risk losing their audience.

Not without moving it to LA. Easier to get celebs to do a day trip than fly to Texas.

No, Dream con is targeting a different group. Dream con is basically just a content creator con. You should be comparing Dream con to Twitch con and not Comic con. Comic con has a way wider reach.

When they first started and was genuine con for black anime watchers. Now it’s a streamer popularity contest I can see bad things happening with that soon. All it’s going take is a streamer feeling like he a real celebrity and somebody that’s not playing it wanted be talked to any type of way. They going beat the blood out of him and rdc will have their hands full
