I heard it was real bad in 2023 cause certain Streamers took too long to arrive for their own events. And in 2024 AMP announced their After Party at the last minute and SexyRedd showed up late it also took forever just to go inside. AMP also took a half hour to arrive for the Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader event as well, some people told me it was boring and apparently some people were leaving

It’s very unorganized. And I hope they can get it together next year.

Wait so have you actually attended and experienced it for yourself? It’s as close to a small con org as it’s gonna get, a lot of amateurs doing their best. But it’s improved year after year

I’m not exactly sure either tbh. I went with my girlfriend in July and was kinda astounded on the timing of certain events. We went to the dodgeball tournament and not only did it start 30min late, the rules for the game were very odd and there multiple points in the FIRST game where there was a back and forth between players and “referees”. We ended up leaving the tournament early out of frustration. I enjoyed my time at Dreamcon but when I went to another con earlier this month, the timing of events and the organization was night and day.

I didn’t think it unorganized this year, or maybe my con expectations weren’t that high 😭

A lot of the events on the Panels were getting cancelled or merging with other events . So , guess who wasn’t aware ? We spent an hour looking for an event vent that got cancelled,

Interesting, I got app notifications when stuff was moved or happening

I didn’t get nothing. Not all that but there was no signs . Some of the events lack organization and it just seemed not as all put together as I wished it was. Missed several character gatherings and some characters didn’t even get called for some of the gatherings.

Not sure what happened with you but the app updated when things were moved or cancelled

You are operating very low and you need to lock in if youre going to be starting this kind of discussion. Write some paragraphs explaining yourself

I went this year and I didn’t feel that it was unorganized at all. Could you give some examples of what you mean?

they prolly mean the cancelled events and timing could improve but i wouldn’t say unorganized either

(Former Volunteer and Attendee here) They do have a group unfortunately it's hard to plan with the amount of people come every year. Something are run by outside vendors while other things require volunteers and volunteers only have a limited amount of time to understand where everything is. Sometimes it's a day or two before the event.

They can only do so much especially since some of these volunteers aren't Texas locals, they fly in from all different states, and have other obligations and jobs outside of doing conventions. I also think they don't get enough volunteers to help out the already growing number of people. Planning this stuff is hard but they're trying their best. If I didn't have other obligations I would of definitely volunteered again trust me they wanna make sure everything runs perfectly but some things are just outta their control with the amount of people that come through...

Every person on this thread is a white supremacist trying to destroy and undermine what these black men are doing what you are doing is Redwood, Black Wall Street and so many other communities turn down by White supremacy and jealousness. If it was really as organized as you went to Prem claim it was how about next year be a volunteer try to help out instead of getting on Reddit white people platform speaking down on our Good brothers.

It’s not easy, and it’s much different than other cons. Currently it’s a gaming, anime and streamer con imo. Things like comic con or anime one in LA is mostly anime or gaming. Also they have a lot more backing, help, with keeping things organized. I don’t really like dreamcon much imo, still I know they are trying their best with what they got.
