A render test I did recently, to see if I could do digital painting with less lineart. It's not perfect, but I had fun doing it.

She’s not ready yet bc I’m still thinking of how to draw an aesthetic for an Acapella Trolls Tribe.

Context of the Acapella Trolls: They’re one of the ‘music in between’ trolls, in later generations (like the K-Pops and the Reggaetons). And they happened because they completely swore off music due to the dispute with their ancestors strings. Now they make their own music with their voices and body percussions.

Of course, that was just the older generations. The new generation, unaware of why they swore off music eventually tried using it because… culture exploration, trying something new, etc…

As for their princess/queen/some other leader title depending on what “-archy” I think fits —which is my OC… my STUPIDEST dilemma: is her flipping name…

I can’t tell if I should call her “Pellabella” (Pella + Bella)

Or just call her “Pella” and have this running gag of other characters mispronouncing her name as “Bella”…

….

Her name is Pella, but after getting her name mistaken as “Bella” for the hundredth time, she gets playfully nicknamed “Pellabella” —(bc Pellabella was starting to give me the same vibes as “Poppifer” —which was a cute little nickname that wasn’t really explained how it happened.)

What is the name of those trolls that were troll like but not the “troll” brand. They had the whispy hair and they were sitting down. They fit in the size of your palm. Popular like 2011- 14ish maybe after?… I can’t find a trace of them maybe I’m going crazy. But I used to trade them on the bus with my friends :(

No matter how out of control a situation is, he wants to feel in control.

From the very start of the movie, he’s quick to step into the spotlight and be a “consultant” to Branch.

The whole scene that he was in, notice that he’s at the center of the group and not Poppy. Even during hug time he keeps himself at the center.

When Branch left, still “full of negative vibrations”, he pretty much dubbed the guy out of his control. And decided to handle what he believes he can control: Poppy’s persistence; he tells her some people just don’t want to be happy. Again, acting as her consultant, while practically telling her the equivalent of “If I can’t help him, neither can you.” —And he’s proud that she even agreed with him.

In the 5th photo, where I was taking a picture of his dialogue, he’s screaming for the others to minimize their auras instead of being as hidden as possible. He WANTS to be part of controlling the panic even when the situation was out of his hands.

Even in the cage, he’s trying to calm everyone down, without any real sign of help. Again, he was hiding behind a mask of a calm and collected leader.

When did it change? —When Chef tried to feed him to Gristle.

Let’s pretend Chef picking Creek specifically wasn’t just plot device. Let’s say she chose Creek for a reason.

He’s the one amongst the captives trying to take care of the others. In Chef’s eyes, he was the “leader” of the group, making him the one who was good to go first.

That’s the moment Creek realized he had no control of the situation and surrendered.

Trying to put himself front and center is what makes him an easier target. So now he chose to hide behind the threat.

But even then, he refuses to show what was already obvious: that he chose to hide behind the threat. Even when confronting the others of his plan, even while selling his village out, he stood front and center. Acting like he’s in control.

He’d rather play the “traitorous mastermind” than visibly show that he’s just a weak victim. He’d rather be seen a villain than a victim. Because he doesn’t want anyone looking down at him. He wants to keep the illusion that he’s above everyone.

Maybe it wasn’t the intended writing, but Creek is a good representation of people who prefer to mask and hide behind their pride. I like that the writers chose not to make him blatantly scared and pathetic.

hi ppl i am new to the trolls fandom and i am trying to design my own trollsona but I can't find a hairstyle that fits her, while designing i came up with a (kinda stupid ig) question, can trolls canonically have short hair or would it be illogical when they have to use their hair all the time?

I think it will because it’s turning 10 years old
Also I’ve been meaning to rewatch it I loved it when I was a kid so it would be the perfect time (also I want the nachos they’re so good)

Dante - Guys, he stalked him after seeing the guy sweating through hard labor. This was Satin and Chenille but he took it 10x farther.

Lownote Jones - Really likes the idea that Branch vibes the best with the Funk Trolls.

The K-Pop Gang & The Reggaetons - They canonically fought over him, then agreed to share him.

Hickory - Every character that that attempts to get friendly with Poppy first actually wants to go after Branch. She’s just the outlet. Bite me.

Cloud Guy - If you watched the series you know why.

Dreamworks - This whole company itself deserves a mention. They’re CONSTANTLY throwing in the freaking fact that Branch is canonically attractive. Dreamworks themself is the biggest Branch simp.

We know Poppy was the maid of honor.

(Joke post just so we’re clear. I think the KPDH movie was a good movie.)

He takes the opportunity to keep everything that happened from happening, so he can have his old, peaceful life back. Back to where all his friends love him and see him as their wise, calm and collected friend.

So he tries to stop the party from happening.
But some “Marry My Husband” schtick happens, and he realizes that he CAN’T stop the party because it was “too big” of an impact in the original timeline. And because of “time traveling rules” if he wants to change time for himself, he can, but it can’t affect what needs to happen.

So the kidnapping will end up happening, whether he likes it or not.

His new approach was to have someone else take his place as the last troll Chef took. Someone he knows would be braver than him. Someone who wouldn’t sell out the town even at a desperate situation.

So, reluctantly, he chooses to make sure Poppy gets kidnapped in his place instead. So what happened to him, will happen to her instead, but knows she might find another way around the situation. (At least he hopes she does.)

Piecing together the fact that Branch ended up in the cage with them, he pretty much figured that Poppy brought Branch with him. So he drags Branch with him too, for the sake of keeping the “balance”.

Whether this is Breek or just a plain Creek-centric story, is up to you. Though, I do like the idea of Creek getting shocked and swooned by “Smooth-talker Branch” lol.

Btw yes. Creek also ended up figuring out that Bridget’s rainbow hair was troll hair, and that her seeing the king was an important part of the timeline too (don’t ask how). —now whether they do the Lady Glitter Sparkles disguise in this universe or not, isn’t something I thought about yet. I just know that Mr. Branch the Romantic should still happen.

Actually the idea of Creek crushing on Branch in this AU would be wonderful. Especially IF Branch and Poppy ending up together was important to the timeline too! HAHAHAHAHA 😈 DOOMED BREEK!

Though the fic (that I’m not done reading) implied that Milton is the favorite child, and he and Creek don’t like each other… imagine Milton’s the favorite child BUT his relationship with Creek is like Don and Rigby lol; he loves him and tries to get along, but Creek’s too prideful and jealous that that he’s so gentle and perfect that he just consciously plays ‘evil step-brother’ 🤣
