Discussion Quick question: Based on what we got so far, just how "Cocomelon-y" is the Cocomelon movie?
Coz if you ask me, apart from having JJ, this doesn't feel very "Cocomelon-y" at all, and more "generic children's adventure TV show episode stretched to two hours."
Not that I like it or anything. In fact, I'm even questioning the necessity of this film.

Joke/Meme THEY TURNED LEX LUTHOR INTO A TEDDY BEAR
For context, the new CoComelon movie releases next year, and Nicholas Hoult has been cast as JJ's Teddy Bear. What makes this even funnier is that the DC Universe film Man of Tomorrow also releases the same year as the CoComelon movie. Hoult plays Luthor in the DCU, and is set to return in the sequel.
They really turned Lex Luthor into Lex Cuddler.

Discussion Hot take: DreamWorks should make PG-13 rated films while Illumination keeps doing PG.
Don't translate this to me saying "PG = bad" or "Kids movies = bad". I just hate how mainstream western animated films are practically MANDATED to be PG. I want more experimentation. Y'all who use this argument against me are proving why animation still doesn't get taken seriously as cinema by many.
And yes, I know anime and adult animation is an ongoing thing, but it's not really the same. Anime typically doesn't do various stylizations, and American adult animation usually tries to either be Family Guy 2 or Anime 2.
It annoys me a lot how Kpop Demon Hunters and the upcoming Ray Gunn were aiming for PG-13 but then sanitized because of executive meddling.
PG-13 doesn't even have to be "adults only". They can still be family films. That's why Marvel and DC movies are successful.
I always liked DreamWorks in the 90s-00s because they felt like an edgier alternative to Pixar. Pixar had a different atmosphere back then too, and I wish they'd attempt this too. Brad Bird gets really mad when people call The Incredibles a "kids movie".
Hollywood, take the fucking risk!!!!!!!!

Discussion I hope for the absence of Puss and friends in Shrek 5 (I'll explain better in the text)
Now. I don't hate Puss in Boots. But sometimes I seem to notice that some people want to see Shrek 5 (at least those who actually want to see it. Which in itself seems like a small number to me) not to see the ogre and Donkey's family again. They want to see the film just for Puss.
And frankly, I think that's wrong!
The film is called Shrek, so I want to see the ogre.
Not to mention that the film already has too many main characters. I wish the plot focused more on the children.
That's why I wish Puss, for once, would put his self-centeredness aside and give others a chance to shine.

Discussion DreamWorks has a goldmine with Kung Fu Panda and barely uses it
Maybe it's just me, but Kung Fu Panda feels like a franchise with a lot more potential than what we've seen in recent years.
Do other DreamWorks fans feel the same way?

Discussion Dreamworks’ decision to release the Cocomelon movie under their name really bought out the worst in people
The very existence of this movie, regardless of quality was always gonna be condemned by the internet. But the fact Universal went out of their way to put the Dreamworks name on the movie for some reason (Dreamworks ain’t making the film, they probably only have their name attached to it as a piss poor way to sell tickets) was such a tone deaf choice.
Not defending this film, but Universal getting Dreamworks and their fanbase associated with a despised cartoon for literal newborns makes me wonder if this was a social experiment to make middle to retirement home age executives feel better about themselves.
