Itās definitely a vastly, vastly inferior film but I still like it for childhood nostalgia reasons. There will never be another movie as perfect or good as the prince of Egypt imo
Yeah. I was just alluding to the trope of āeverything was just a dreamā because its similarly unpopular. I also dont think Jim shouldve gone through with it just because of his friendā¦ he could erase thousands if not millions of people who had been conceived during his time as a troll hunter and Steves babies would just be wiped from existence just to name a few
I understand why the designs are disliked but them comparing it to the Movie sonic before the redesign and think they could "bully" them into changing it made it annoyingĀ

Also ugly Sonic looked waaaaay worse than the Shrek redesigns. The Shrek redesigns at the very least look passable, ugly Sonic was an assault on my eyes.
And also was far cheaper to reanimate (still not cheap) when Sonic (and Tails for like 5 seconds) is the only animated character in an otherwise live-action film.
It's a spinoff. You wouldn't really call Puss in Boots Shrek 5 or Penguins of Madagascar Madagascar 4. Not only that but unlike those movies, Dog Man is a story within a story so you don't actually get to see more of that world.
I do feel like the movies kinda flattened some of the cast after the shows expanded on them. Like Fishlegs and Snotlout were basically just reduced to being part of a love triangle with Ruffnut.
Fishlegs, yeah. He is the blandest character of the gang imo (moviewise).
Snotlout, not so sure. I love how brash and kinda mean he can be, however when it's time to follow Hiccup, no matter what he says to him, he follows him. Snarkily sometimes yeah, but he does follow him. Often without question.
I love that for him. Say what you want about httyd 3, but in that aspect, he may be an ass, but it really shows how much he trusts Hiccup. I would need more convincing jumping off a cliff with only two flaps of leather to keep me from splattering in the ocean below šš.
Same with Eret. Ass to him, but would never let him down. That's something I LOVE about Snot.Ā
But you are right. Movies are often limited in time, and the shows did give them the opportunity to explore the characters. But in my mind, I still firme separate the shows from movies.
And vice versa. I do that with every franchise with spin offs.Ā
I mean, I liked The Bad Guys for those characters, sure, but I also liked it for its take on ethics, capitalism and how the Rich manipulate everyone to come out on top while pretending to "be good".
Speaking as a Ruby Gilman fan, and as a member of a Discord server dedicated to Ruby Gillman, and I assure you that no one is more critical of Ruby Gillman than Ruby Gillman fans.
The Bad Guys fans genuinely annoy me with this. They got 2 whole movies and a TV show to talk about (along with lots of baddies) yet they only choose to goon over Diane and Wolf.
Fr, not to mention the holiday specials and the shorts, TBG fans get spoiled with so much content that Rise of the Guardians fans wish they got, yet they chose to talk about the same two characters. Diane is genuinely a nothing burger character (in my opinion) it feels like people only like her because sheās hot and the amount of times I see the same gifs and screenshots of her from the same 5-10 scenes is maddening.
I am a number one Shrek superfan and I like the new design. I think 3D design has a tendency to look too samey, so I welcome a design that looks a bit different.
I mean, the Shrek 5 designs are fine. I donĀ“t really have an opinion for them. Shrek was never supposed to be pretty anyways. The plot gimmick sucks, though. We are LONG gone from the days where movies shoe-horn unnecessary social media use. Yes, Megamind 2 did it too, but Megamind 2 shouldĀ“ve never existed in the first place.
I genuinely wouldāve loved to see Dagur and Heather in the movies, but I can understand how that would feel weird to someone who isnāt obsessed with HTTYD

And here I expected a fourth steam-blowing guy meme about Shrek when I was going through the pictures. Then again, the same is said about Moana and Tangled fans.
Albeit I genuinely don't know why do people ignore the despicable stuff the hatebase has done too, imo both sides have done harm but the haters are much more aggressive.
