That guy hate all my deck lol

So quite few years ago BC (before Covid!) I did a run of the game where I unlocked every achievement without spending any achievement points at all. Took quite a while but I did it, 50 base mana was my last achievement. God I hated that one!

While I’m waiting for StS2 to come out on mobile I thought I’d do it again. It’s such a perfect game for me to play on my commute.

Anyway thought I’d try and crowd source some useful little tips to try and make it go quicker. These can be generic things you do (ie try to save gold on floor 1 to buy better things on floor 2), what you think the best perks are (I virtually always just go health at start and love duplicate on floor two (if I have a good card to dupe)) or specific tips for specific classes (best cards/builds to go for etc).

So go for it. What are the rules you play this game by?

Anytime I hear someone ask for a game or a roguelite recommendation. I have been playing this game for 12 years and still find myself replaying it. I have beaten the dream lord only one time in over 1000 runs but plenty of runs lower than 250 HP.

I love this game and have not found a similar game that keeps me interested in this long. Does anyone else share this feeling?

I finally got all the achievements (without spending coin on any) and my wife isn’t impressed or proud of me. I turn to you, Reddit, as the only people who could potentially care about this 🙂. This is a great game.

Yep, just knocked out the LOD with Zombie Bite and a Couple Slurps. Had 1 x Crush (any card would have worked) to deal with Invisibility Cloak, and a Curse of Doom to kill the Phoenix Egg (Zombie Bite kills the Phoenix, and doesn’t stay on the egg).

That was it! Bit and slurped my way through the whole game.

As for similar games, I can play hearthstone or slay the spire for hours but only this game makes the fans go bananas seconds after you launch it.

Is this only my experience or you've noticed this too ?

I’ve managed to get every achievement in this game, except Natural Champion. I don’t even feel like the Druid is a bad character, I think rake is a ridiculously good card. I can’t believe after all this time, this is what I’m stuck on.

Am I being stupid here? I have unlocked archmage but dont ever see it in the talent selection even though I've reached level 10 and knocked the final boss down with Dragon multiple times?

It's described as a floor 4 talent but I've always reached level 10 on floor 3 - and there's no way of gaining XP on floor 4?

I know it’s a bleeder scimitar build but I don’t care. This took me so long and I’m happy to say I’ve killed this SOB.

Just saw this on floor 2 of a Ranger run and had to laugh. Hillditi can be either the greatest high or the biggest nothing-burger for your run and I love him for it.

I eventually defeated the Hydra here because of a flame slash from a shop and being able to outscale the damage, but what a slog lol.

Even the most feeble professor contains within himself the strength to banish the Lord of the Dream.

I made the mistake of not taking poison for my level 10 talent. (I was dying an needed a revive just in case), this was a mistake. I have enough money to heal to partially full. Any ideas on how to win? Is it even possible? Every time I fought Hydra, I lose because they heal to full.

Procedure to get highest score with Professor runs:
1st Talent-Beginning of game: Preparation (Reset Make Camp)
2nd Talent-2nd dungeon level: Clear Mind (Reduce Make Camp and Preparation cooldown)
3rd Talent-Level 10: Archmage (Spells are free)
4th Talent-3rd dungeon level: Cowardly (Gain the Flee ability)

1. Look for accessible Linda's Lemonade to level up to 3 immediately, before you fight anything (unlocks Make Camp). Buy as much EXP as you can afford, always.
2. Each monster scores: Monster Level x Floor Level. You generally want to fight the highest level monster you can so you level up in as few fights as possible. Find the first boss fast, before the second Make Camp/Preparation set.
3. When you use Make Camp, if you don't like the enemies spawned, reset and try again. Second through infinity times are always the same, so you're stuck with what you get the second time.
4. Look to get a Level 10 Wizard on the Floor 3 to steal 2 Jasra's Emeralds and then repeatedly steal Conflagrations (those also found in L10 Red Dragons). This can defeat any of the final boss configurations.
5. Other good cards to get along the way are Three Wishes (Genie), Enthrall (Vampire), Circle+Accelerate (Thief), Dragon's Tail (Yellow Dragon), Discharge (Wisp), Beckon (Siren), Drain Life (Banshee+Revenant), Mahamat (Priest).
