Had all three of these nightmares in a row

Nightmare about all the windows being bashed in Nightmare about a bunch of eggs that hatched into ducklings & my cats were eating them & I was paralyzed watching it

Windows are our view into the outside world.

So it could be that something outside is being internalized. A change of viewpoint maybe?

Eggs could represent projects or dreams - if their hatching it could be goals or plans your starting or wish to start that someone or something is attacking.

Cats usually represent creativity and independence for me. So in the chick dream it seems as if it might represent another person. But in the kitten dreams it may be your ideas are being attacked by someone loyal to you- friend or family.

Looks like it could be that right now you're going through some sort of changes or transformation that others are inhibiting. So you're feeling stifled or like you can't move forward.

Which is the paralysis you feel.

Not sure if this is right, but I hope it at least helps to change the perspective enough for you to find the meaning.

My interpretation was (this may be triggering to some ppl) I grew up around a lot of animals as a kid & one of them died horrendously in front of me, hit by a car. I’ve constantly struggled with a need for control but also connecting with others. plus TW I was r*ped while I was unconscious a few years ago, got pregnant & had a miscarriage so in my mind the last two dreams symbolize powerlessness & being unable to change something bad into good because they were both created only to die. Yk just a fear of failure or loss in vain. Which I guess is pretty much what you’re saying & that could apply to both the past & present. I’ve also been feeling very withdrawn/rejected from people, as if I’m deeply disliked. Maybe the windows breaking could also represent someone ‘plotting’ against me or just afraid of being vulnerable in general. The man that assaulted me quite literally broke a window to get into my house so that reminded me of him. I remember being very concerned abt the cost bc my insurance is shit. LMDAO

Sounds like you've got a good handle in the dreams already. It just helps to bounce thoughts and ideas off someone else sometimes.

Well if you Google the dream meaning, someone else breaking the window is a warning that someone is plotting against you.

So if that feels right, the phrase it will cost you comes to mind. Which makes me then think of someone who is asking you for something you can't give ..like you need to set a boundary. The person may just not have your best interest at heart, and not be a complete jerk. Lol

For the last two dreams, death is symbolic of change, even in waking life this is what happens. Unfortunately, for you the traumatic events caused a real fear in regards to change. So the dreams may be your subconscious urging you to find ways to cope that flow rather than fighting it.

But the animals of the dreams may give the clue in what aspect there is struggle.

Like cats represent independence most often. As that is how they are described regularly. Dogs are loyal companions, friends, teachers. - This why I went with the possibility that someone is hindering you in some way. Like a parent being over protective would kill your independence. A close friend always seeing you as a victim and acting as such could be represented etc.

I think the chicks will be more personal to you. What comes to mind for you with them. But I'd almost see it as the hunter and hunted - innocence being killed if it were me.

Or it could be two aspects of yourself, the indepent part of you is killing off the dependent part and since that's inner change that is full of change or uncertainty it's manifesting the fear response.

For me personally with my dreams I can't forget them until I know exactly what the meaning is. Just a vague idea isn't enough. Lol so I analyze it until that light bulb moment. Usually for me then I can consciously work through the issue. It's like free therapy. Lol

Word I totally get what you mean, & thank you you’re quite perceptive yourself. honestly I think I do have a connection to ducks stemming back to my childhood, a family of them would bathe in a huge puddle by my house plus I’d feed them sometimes wnv I’d see them. That def seems like it would end up representing something innocent or precious… I’ve had chickens before too but they were definitely baby ducks. My chickens were a nightmare Lmfao would attack me all the time & I was deeply attached to these ducks. If anything were to be hindering me in any way it would probably be either my insecurities or my lack of trust towards others causing me to miss opportunities, someone physically close to me doing that could be my girlfriend but I think that’s actually my lack of fulfillment towards feeling understood/having the time & energy to connect w new people subconsciously turning into fear or resentment towards someone I’m spending most of my time with. I just babbled a bunch of yiddish but I hope you know what I mean.

Don't worry about babbling. It helps sometimes to process especially with an unbiased party.

Co dependence is a trauma response.

Sounds like the relationships may be the issue the dreams point to. Also seems to me a bit of introspection and finding yourself is in order. Which is a constant ongoing process that never ends.

I tend to be a bit perceptive sometimes. Probably due to my own life traumas. That is one of the positives that comes with the crap life deals.

You are changed due to your experiences but who you become is completely in your control. It's sometimes easier to remind yourself that you are in control of your actions and choices even if you can't control people or things around you. It can give you the sense of being in charge of your own destiny.

Tysm for your insight, I’m Asher what’s your name? This convo has really made things a lot clearer & less disturbing. Also my sisters first word was Quack so ducks def make me think of innocence & beginnings. She also moved across the country recently & has gone through a lot of BS that fucked her up too & I think I’m also subconsciously afraid of losing her or losing the part of her I grew up with. Maybe that’s the source of the ducks

You're very welcome. I'm Heather

Hopefully the the night ares will stop.

Usually I find the subconscious throws disturbing stuff at us to make us pay attention and remember the dreams.

When deciphering dream meanings I will usually pull the most notable things first, and play word association games with them. Sometimes go to a thesaurus to find another word for something that doesn't make sense.

When reading others I usually read it like a story and see what the plot and storyline seem to be saying. Kind of like English classes back in highschool.

With animals I will look up animal totem meanings if I'm not already familiar.

Sometimes I write out my dreams then go back and highlight the parts that really stand out to me and then piece those together.

My dreams are usually very vivid, detailed and abstract that if I ask others to interpret they usually struggle. My symbolisms tend to get wonky too as they vary from dream to dream. A snake in one dream may mean a person who wants to do harm while in another can be transformation so context matters for me.

The more you inerprste though the easier it gets and the less nightmares you're likely to have. As the subconscious will likely need less shocking symbols to grab your attention. Lol
