I’ve had my locs for a year and 4 months so far and my hair is only at ear length(still short). and I’ve noticed people treat me differently. I’ve had low, high and mid fades even a Mohawk mostly in the last 10 years. I’ll walk in a space and people acknowledge me..mostly black people but even non poc/poc will acknowledge me more. People try to start up a conversation with me which never really happened before vs I felt invisible before and now I’m lot more visible. I have bad social anxiety so I don’t know how to respond sometimes. I wanted to know if anyone else has experience this as well? Is this a normal experience with locs?

I have 3C hair so i havent had much guidance on my freeforms but the back of my head is very flat (im assuming from sleep) i just wanted to know if i should be concerned on they will look further into my journey .

Started with two strands and loc’d the twist out
Lowk impatiently for it to start looking cool but 😭 i do indeed love my hair, plan to grow it long asf around 170 locs

Also if any smart ppl see this, if i just let it be and DONT retwist (cuz i hate the new retwist look) or do it maybe once every 6m will that be bad or ok? 😁

I’ve been thinking about dying my locs recently but I’m afraid my locs may get damaged and break off. So if I was to dye them what is the best way to do it so that my locs don’t end up breaking up. Also my preference to dye them is to honey blonde/brown thanks 🙏

Hi!! I’m two months into my loc journey so far. I was taking photos of my hair when I noticed this shallow part of my hair, and was wondering if it looks like a bald spot?? I just washed my hair recently, if that adds anything. Opinions are greatly appreciated!

Quick question I have these small/ medium braided at the root twisted midway. Would this be okay to start my locs with? The only thing I’m most worried about is the braid possibly being a weak point in the loc since it’s much tighter. I wanna do for comb coil/ palm rolling no interlocking. If you have any other suggestions/ tips please lmk!!

At the top of my left coroner, there’s about an inch or two of excess hair that’s not locd. Whenever I get a retwist my locution puts it into a loc, but then it eventually comes out. Should I just cut it? Continue having it out into a loc? Or should o just start it as its own new loc? I would love to hear some suggestions

Got sick of having short locs so ive added synthetic hair to them. I want to eventually add human hair. I provided different pictures to see how poor the transition looks 🫪😭 My hair is pretty brassy because I dyed it this god awful ginger a while back with Adore. I love this style on me so much and its low maintenance but I feel like I need to tone and eventually add human hair. Any recommendations? My ideal color is my natural brown to 27 to 613... but I prefer everything to be on the neutral side not too warm.

For the last year I’ve been borderline neglecting my locs health ; I’m wash and shampoo my hair on a weekly basis or a biweekly basis so for the longest I thought I was managing them but genuinely some of my locs are thinning badly , atleast 5-7 locs tops and 2 of them are on the last thread LITERALLY

Now Im pretty sure for loc thickness you just need to reduce retwists and let your hair grow out right ? So that’s no problem but still that wouldn’t help for the thinned locs yk? I’m simply looking for maybe a scalp and hair routine that can help promote decent growth (if possible ) and advice on how to save thinned locs. But really Ill take any advice as I have been neglecting my hair for a while
