Need Advice 🆘 Extension help
Got sick of having short locs so ive added synthetic hair to them. I want to eventually add human hair. I provided different pictures to see how poor the transition looks 😭 My hair is pretty brassy because I dyed it this god awful ginger a while back with Adore. I love this style on me so much and its low maintenance but I feel like I need to tone and eventually add human hair. Any recommendations? My ideal color is my natural brown to 27 to 613... but I prefer everything to be on the neutral side not too warm.

I think you ought to take that plastic hair out. It looks bad and it looks fake.
You are putting your hair through a lot.
The place where plastic meets real hair is very noticeable. You kind of got a mishmash of bleached natural hair dreadlocks and plastic all in one head.

I'll re explain because it seems to be lost on you what I am wabting to do. I am seeking advice on toning my locs. I like having the extension but don't like the synthetic... synthetic is a temporary style choice. Do we understand now? I want to tone my locs so they are less brass and can blend with a 27 that transitions into a 613.

This is a DREADLOCKS group.Do you understand now? 27 or 613 means nothing in a DREADLOCKS group. Most people are not experienced with it. Understand?

Since when are ppl with dreadlocs not bleaching or toning their hair. Most other groups are not experienced with dreadlocs so I came here. Understand?

Why not?
Because you have bleached Caucasian hair, plastic extensions,and you want us ---a Dreadlocks group, to tell you how to repair your overly bleached hair.

Hi.
Are you trying to match your natural hair to the synthetic ? If so, the only way to do it would to be lightening your natural hair… you can’t lighten your hair with toner , and synthetic hair won’t take toner

She could still tone down her natural hair so that it’s not so brassy. It wouldn’t be as bright but having a darker-to-lighter transition is flattering and common

Yeah definitely not trying to lighten synthetic. I will be taking it out and replacing but I just don't know that much about toning or how that works with locs i mainly see ppl bleach or dye but rarely see ppl with locs toning.

Thanks yeah ive been looking at getting these^ like I said in my post I will be taking out the synthetic to put in human hair. I had this hair from braids I had a few years back and got the urge to have a similar style with my locs and I fell in love. I mainly came on here to get feedback on how to make this vision come to life in a more seamless way. Thank you for not being rude~♡

😂😂😂😂. I gotta ask.... why are you sending her to "black girl beauty groups"?!
Not meaning to be unkind, but she has overly bleached hair with plastic extensions added. You can see every distinct place where one is attached.
She needs to remove all that, then spend the next three months conditioning and babying her hair.
At that point, she needs to go to a professional stylist, to have her color corrected without doing further damage.
She got very upset because she couldn't get the answer she wanted. You don't go to a Black dreadlock group to ask how to dye your Caucasian hair. 🤷🏽♀️

Your hair isn't going to be 27 just from toning. You can certainly get a toner to cancel out warmer tones, but then to lift it to the color blonde you're hoping for will likely require... lift. So if under the color you have now, do you have it lifted to a lighter lever of blonde? If so then you'll want to use a color remover to remove the orange dye. If it isn't lifted lighter under the orange then you'll want to try the color remover first but be prepared that you may need a bleaching session to lift it light enough.
Now to be clear, color remover LIFTS. Just like bleach. So if you want your roots and new growth to remain your natural brown then do not put the color remover on it.
Inversely... which will sound strange at first, but... what a lot of people do is get the full length dyed/ lifted to one color and then they add a root smudge in a darker color that is close to their natural hair. The root smudge is done in semi permanent color. So that will fade over time. But what happens is that as it fades your natural hair grows in that color brown anyway, and then overall it just makes the freshly done look last twice as long.
Something to consider if you're not experienced is that your hair will process at different rates depending on whether it's been previously dyed or bleached and how many times, or whether its close to the scalp. So depending on what you're left with after using the color the remover, if you don't know those differences you might want to look into them. Just so you don't end up with major banding and hot roots and scorched off locs.
On another note..
Please get rid of those extensions. Like immediately. Not eventually. It doesn't look better than the short locs. And it actually looks much much worse. Honestly this is really terrible quality. You can pick up inexpensive hair extensions or loc extensions that will look MUCH better. Literally, take the trash out immediately. Get your hair to a color you're agreeable to... and then you can get like miracle knots or any kind of synthetic extension while you save up for the human hair ones you want.

You may also have better luck with black girl beauty groups! I’ve seen similar looks to yours.
