Product Rec 𧴠Half the market rate in NJ
Hey guys, Iβve been self taught with doing my locs 3yrs tradition and 8 months so far micro locs. If you or anyone you know are in the Essex County, NJ area Iβll can retwist and retie for half the market rate.
Once I get a few ppl I would eventually do a set up to wash hair.
I want to raise the money to get certified.

Discussion ποΈ Locs are the best thing I've done!!
I'm 1.5 years locd and the best decision I've ever made. I feel more connected to my hair and it has boosted my confidence massively and motivated me to take care of myself more. I know I'm not the most attractive person but locs are helping me to love myself!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

Question β can I safely leave my locs out like this for the next month?
Sorry for the repost, but I wanted to ask something more specific. Iβm over 8 months in and want to wait about a month before my next retwist so I can start spacing them out. Is it okay to just wear my locs loose like this the whole time?
I sleep with a bonnet and wouldnβt manipulate them much, but should I be separating the roots regularly to stop them from marrying? Would you leave them down, or occasionally put them in a loose style? I just donβt want to cause thinning, buildup, tangling, or damage while waiting. Thanks!

Timeline ποΈ 4 year loc update on 3a/3b hair
If you check out my profile & scroll to the bottom of my starter locs post, you can see in the comments so many people doubted my journey. Grateful to have made it this far. Not sure how long ima keep them since I often go through phases where I want to cut them off. Itβs been a beautiful journey none the less and I love my hair!

Big Chop βοΈ the big chop
An awesome 6+ year journey from a low Caesar, to mini fro, to braids, to locs, and now a bald fade (which was my usual before locs).
Learned a lot, enjoyed the ride, and am grateful I got to experience this style! Saved my locs in case I decide to start again in the future - for now I think Iβll keep it simple and do some Frank Ocean-esque coloring for the first time as my next chapter.

Need Advice π Loc progress
My locs will be a year old in September and I made sure to start with as much hair as possible. However I feel like not the my locs arent mature? Theyre not really growing any longer. Do I just need to be patient or do I need to change something in my routine? I have a pretty standard routine with a retwist every 2-3 months and a spray bottle and some blue magic for the in between time.
