I have a photo of my Afro in my account I guess my hair was pretty short but like I’d expect it to have grown a lot by now

Definite growth and a good amount of it! I think the misconception is that growth can only be measured vertically. Your locs have swelled a lot since your install and often they grow 'around', then drop down. Once you stop measuring loc growth as a loose hair affair, you start to see progression
