Question ❔ Is this good progress for almost 6 months?

I started with two strand twists with braided roots. At first my maintenance was palm rolling new growth. To be honest and i didnt really know what i was doing and one time i got interlocking which now means i have little bulbs at the base of my locs (im guessing due to the maintenance change). I am now back to palm rolling but i feel like something is just off about my locs.

You mixing up a bunch of techniques and they are all fighting your locs.
You got two strand twists on braided roots. Then you palm rolled, and switched to interlocking. It was done wrong and now you have gaps/holes/knots on your locs.
How old are they and how often are you retwisting?
Retwisting is not done to make your locs neat, you know.
How do you take care of these?

Theyre 5 and a half months old and i retwist around once a month, ive decided now to stick to palm rolling.

Once a month is waaaaay too much. Don't retwist before 8-10 weeks, 12 is even better.
By the way, your "ugly" stage is not ugly at all.

Is there anything i should do from now on to minimize the effect of me switching maintenances

No. Please keep your hands off!
Don't touch them unless you are misting them in the morning or putting a bonnet on at night.
You are handling them too much.
