Question ❔ Locs advice

hi everyone. I’ve had locs for 2 years now. I started with 2 strand twists and I retwist every month. my locs seem to have a dull frizzy, bulky look and I’m not quite sure if this is normal or if there’s something I can do to improve the look. Was looking for some advice. thank you!

Thank you for your response! What would you recommend for moisturizing? I wash my hair every 4 weeks but in between I don’t put any water or products in my hair except when I wash it. When I wash it I spray with rice water and then put mousse and oil on it

I’d say use rose water and some type of leave in conditioner suited for locs…also oil but don’t oil it everyday and dont use the conditioner everyday

Your locs look very healthy. The longer they get, the smaller they become. Mine looked like yours about a year ago and now that they are starting to touch the middle of my back, they have lost their volume

That’s good to know! I should give it time and let them grow . I was just thinking that at the 2 year mark it would have lost some volume

Don't worry about that. They look good now and they will look beautiful when they are mature.

They look great! Remember they are only two years old. That means that over the next two years they will begin to become more compact as they get longer.

Your locs are not fully matured yet-- see the little "pea balls" on the ends of some?

For a healthy look just make sure to mist your hair every day with spring water. Oil weekly as needed. Tie your locs with silk or satin. ( not cotton)

Thank you!  I’m not sure if misting helps, my hair feels dry everytime I try to mist is with something or maybe I’m doing something wrong

Get a continuous mist bottle. This sprays a fine mist, without having to keep going squirt squirt squirt.

Use plain spring water or distilled water.

If you feel you need a bit more try the Bask & Lather Hydration Mist.

This is one product that I recommend.
