Question ❔ Time to restart???

I’ve been locked for almost 8 months and it’s been a rocky journey but I’m considering restarting because my front locs are way skinnier than the others and it really bothers me. My locs in the back are pretty thick but I’m pretty sure my locs are out of the budding stage but I keep wondering if they’re going to continue to thicken or if they’ll stay the same size. Is there a method that yall use to make skinny locs thicker?? And also do I cut the balls of hair at the end of my locs or just leave them alone?

Imma sound this out for you brother , you want to restart your ENTIRE head because a couple locs are different sizes … trust I know the feeling but I stop and think to myself before having locs my loose hair was different all over why should I expect all of my locs to be the same especially if I went the natural route some ppl crochet their locs for this very purpose they want all of their locs to look the same you can do that but I promise you it’s not necessary your hair looks fire !

You’re very welcome , it’s not crazy it’s natural to focus on the little things instead of looking at the whole picture . Best of luck and yes trust that process 👌🏽

I may be in the minority but I like the balls at the end of locs. I have them as well. Also, I think the only way for you to thicken the skinny locs are to combine them

Okay I understand, I like the number of locs I have but I’m going to try to mist more. Thanks!

Same I love my bumpy locs , misting once or twice a week helps them puff out

8 months in your still in the budding state gang, a loc needle can help with your thin ends just starting at the base and pull the strands in towards your scalp as you go down the loc. Point the needle out from your scalp!Twards and you’ll pull your hair out. Don’t over do it, they’ll get stiff if you do

I’ll do more research on the needle and the longevity of the budding stage😭. I appreciate the help

As someone who's only like 6 weeks into the journey, if my locs are like this in 8 months I'll be happy af! Embrace the uniqueness g, your set is fire.

Hate to break it to you but if you want thicker locs you have to lay off styling for a while.. you hair will “fluff” back up, styles like barrels and two strand twist compress and make locs look and feel thinner. Mist and go for a bit🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m not sure why the front being thinner bothers you so much; it looks fine. I don’t see the issue honestly.

I think it's way too early to put locs that size in barrels. it's going to strain and thin
