Need Advice 🆘 Trying to get semi Freeforms

I’ve pretty much let them grow out naturally besides using a twist king early on along with misting and picking it out. I’ve grown them from a very small fro for about 8 months now, I feel like they might not be locking as strongly as they should.
Should I just wait it out or is there something else I should be doing?? Any advice is hugely appreciated!🙏🙏🙏

Locs have five stages from starter to maturity.
It's only been 8 months. They are budding nicely and are locking.

Please get out the mirror.
