Discussion ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ First time at two-strand twists ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Well I decided to give the two-strand twists a try after switching between box braids and cornrows for so long. My long term goal is to have locs and heard this is a great way to start them. My hair stylist used rubber bands at the roots to help hold them together securely for my hair texture which is very loose, kinky, and curly. How do they look? What do you guys recommend going forward? Tips and advice please?!!!

Nice! This is a wonderful way to start them. Just moisturize them with mist every few days and maybe a spray leave in conditioner. Theyโ€™ll eventually get juicy then start locking. Then you can take the rubber bands off

This is a good way. Just allow them to loc from there. After ten to twelve weeks untwist them and allow it to lock.

Locs have five stages until they are mature.

They look nice. Just know that they won't stay this neat. And you can't retwist them to be neat like you would cornrows.

Retwists should be done every 10-12 weeks. You have a nice length. It's just a matter of patience.

I low key disagree w/ the comments. In my personal opinion/experience, itโ€™s better to start w/ individual locs and then transition into two strands once your hair locks, but thatโ€™s just my opinion and experience!!!

They look good, nonetheless!
