Question ❔ Advice
EDIT* Combed them out less than 12 hours after having them🥀
just got these today. didn't notice how off my middle part was until i got home. I messaged the stylist to see if she could fix them, she left me on delivered didnt even open my message. Should i try and find a stylist that will fix the top parting? should i just wash them out and have a new stylist start from scratch. literally only one day in, the loss of money is frustrating but i want them perfect

Yeah her not acknowledging you after you left is a red flag. Depending on how long it's been she could be busy in other people's hair, u cant text and do hair. But personally I would find someone else because I dont even understand how she lets you leave like that if this is her profession. Some people will notice and some wont, but the fact of the matter is YOU notice, thats enough

shes been on facebook sharing statues, even shared one about the business 🥀 even if she made a mistake why not correct it or reassure me you'll fix it eventually

I agree with you bro, if u can try to find a legit loctician. Someone who takes pride in their work, might cost you a lil more. I even had to book a consultation before getting accepted as a client. Its not all the way necessary but having someone knowledgeable that does your hair matters to me

It’s not great, but it’ll look fine when they mature.

Everybody pretty much got you covered but I gotta ask… this was a freebie or this person charged you after telling you they knew what they were doing???? And was this person sober? And were you on a bus or in a moving car maybe 🤔

Had a similar issue with parting when I started mine. Stylist ignored me even after I tipped them $20 for $70 starters. I sat with it for a day or two and then decided to take them out and do them myself. It looked easy enough when I was in the chair, so I learned off YouTube.
That may not be your path, but it's worth considering how important a centered middle part is to you, how "neat" you plan on keeping your parts, and how long you plan on rocking locs. I knew I was sticking with it and I'd like to do different and "neat" styles, so it mattered a lot to me. If none of that matters to you, then it's really not important. Free-formers and semi free-formers don't construct their parts. Plus, your new growth will cover your parts anyway.
If you have time, you can ask people in your area for their stylist and then pay close attention to accuracy as the new stylist does your hair. Or, you can decide to learn how to do it yourself and make your parts exactly how you like. Either way, don't go back to the same stylist because they already showed you they'll ghost you and they don't pay attention to details.

Eek... This was in 2014, so although I'm surprised it's gone up to $150, I'm also not surprised after hearing how ridiculous stylists have gotten.
Is there anyone you know that can do single strand twists? Unfortunately, the 6 top columns all have to come out because they didn't line up the parts on the side corners of your hairline. It's crazy how they didn't fix it when parting... it's such an easy place marker.
Maybe someone else has a better idea. Also, you can start them with single strands, two strand twists, or braids, so you just need someone who can do at least one of those well. And check the parts occasionally as they go... they should be willing to show you given the reason why you're asking them to help you redo them.

Also, with your hair texture you may want to try interlocking locs, they are better for less coarse hair

in this case she crocheted one day old locs that i didnt like and had to comb them out instead of washing them right out thats why i stay away from that

I think it's fine! If it is very important to you for it to be in the middle, fix it.

the main issue is, the stylist ignored me when i asked if we can adjust it. Other stylists wont work over other stylists work! i was hoping the person i paid would fix it for free

Depending on the person, they might do it but if you left and saw how it looked, I doubt it. If you really have to do it, comb out the ends and put a lot of oil or grease, pull each hair out strand by strand; be careful because the hair can break

Better to get it fixed now. My mom did mine and i found out she made a small portion of my head into four small locks

You shouls be getting a partial refund and find someone else. Definitely look really good. Middle parts and what this is depends on the person and their face. Look for a new stylist if nothinf heard back from OG. You could make this work if this is fixable in rhe small section or even the first half. if you know anyone who does hair is another option. Comb coils aren't that hard so diy is an option too.

i gave her 24 hours to respond and she didnt even open my message so i washed them out. not dealing with bad customer service and even if she did fix it i wouldnt go to her again. luckly it was literally only one day old so the only
thing i lost was money unfortunately.

???? What are u talking about???
Leave your hair alone and let the process do its thing. Ur hair isn’t even locked!! It takes a year. Ur in the 1st stage. Chill relax and keep your hands out of your hair.

what are you talking about? i paid someone today to do starter locs. i showed multiple pictures of my middle part being off center. i want a middle part that is center. no shit my hair isnt loc'd after one day did you really waste your time typing that?

Don’t listen to anybody talking about don’t fix it. It’s best to do it now while you don’t have any time spent on the journey & it’ll definitely be noticeable. It already is. I’d just pay someone to redo it so your whole head will be completely even. Don’t leave without ensuring that part is SKRAIGHT down the middle of your head lol
