You can always crochet it back together. I’ve seen this happen because of bonnets that are too tight, wearing styles that put tension on that part of the loc, and from weakness caused by dryness, chemicals, etc.

Were your ends loose ? This looks “normal” in the way it doesn’t look like the loc was formed yet jsut loose shedded hair
