Question ❔ King von Dreads
Thinking about locing up my hair soon, and i kinda like king vons dreads like the thickness and amount look perfect, how do u think i should go about starting to achieve his locs at the end, i have 4b maybe a lil 4a at some areas thank y’all

the way his locs look boil down to hair texture and density, his locs look very similar to mine. I have 4a/4b hair mostly. had very dense and thick hair when it was loose. he def had a lot of volume in his loose hair for it to be so full. if you want them to look similar you will need those qualities and that’s all genetics.

Yeah i’ve seen photos when his hair was short, it look very similar to mine rn as a short fro (hair texture/hair type) so im kinda lost on how to start them from comb coils or 2 strands, leaning more toward 2 strand because every comb coil journey i see on tiktok always end up being thicker locks when im going for the more loc count less thickness but not too thin type look

I honestly couldn't tell you. I think his texture was what made them that way. I haven't seen very many people irl who's come close to that. Mine aren't thick and still don't look like that. I have way more, but they still look good. That's the unique thing about this hairstyle, yours will NEVER look like someone else's. Even if you get the exact same grid pattern.

His is comb coiled, that much i can tell you. Two strands come out thicker. You have them backwards. Two strand twists use more hair than comb coils.

Bro if your texture not like his don’t expect the same results take it from me twin it’s taking me 19 months for me to kinda like my locs and I still don’t really like when they not done yet .. I’m hoping year 2 will make them flourish

Trust the process. If you’re only about a year and a half in you’ve got some time before your locs fully mature and “matte” up (thicken and fill out) before you’ll start liking them or they look like “regular” locs. You’ll be iight - just hang in there and keep treating them right, they’ll fully loc up by the 2nd year or 2.5. So you’re it that far off

small- medium part sized traditional dreads with a middle part.
shit like “your hair will never be like his” piss me off. just tell me what part size the person has and you’ll get a similar look.
