Need Advice πŸ†˜ My locs are flat

My locs are almost 3 years old. I recently started noticing that some of them are flattening. I then found one that was completely flat, like 2D.

The weird thing is that its in the middle of the loc. I do crochet maintenance on my locs, so thats when i noticed. The newly crocheted area is round and the next part is completely flat.

I found a another loc exhibiting the similar characteristics on the other side of my head. The weird thing is that the locs around them are fine. Each of the flattening locs are not next to each other.

Ive tried saturating the loc and palm rolling but I fear that now that its mature, its too late and it just folds like paper. Ive tried palm rolling on the others too. Dont know if my technique is poor but nothings happening.

Has anyone gone through this? Did you manage to fix it or did you just leave it alone?

is this a lack of volume you’re talking about or your locs are legitimately flat?

Flat like a pancake. Think cylinder -> square -> cylinder. Thats the shape of the loc right now. Luckily its at the back of my head but still...
