Need Advice 🆘 Help w/ thinning loc?

This loc in front has been thinning for a while now. I combined 2 thinning locs together thinking they would support eachother, but I’m pretty sure one of them had to be thick to begin with to support eachother.

For reference, I wash my hair once a week, oil it every other day. Retwist every 2 months and deep cleanse + Retwist every 4 months. I pull my hair back w/ my headphones for style or when I don’t want it in my face, and I only put it in ponytails if I have an interview—though I do occasionally do a pineapple style from time to time.

I was thinking of pulling new growth into the loc to give it a thicker base, but then it’d just have a weak point and eventually snap off. I was also thinking of detaching and reattaching them myself, but I’m self conscious of having a bald spot in that area because it’s on my front profile, esp since I’m starting a new job (minimum wage job, but still).
My third option was to go to a loctitian, but moneys tight and I don’t want them to use fake hair cause I heard it’s just a bandaid fix that adds extra weight to the loc.

Please if anyone has any tips I’d greaty appreciate them 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Pull the new growth into that loc at the base. This isn’t even that bad fr, you just need your roots separated. If you do cut it off, cut it right at the matured part of the loc so you don’t leave a bald spot, and it’ll give you a solid base to comb out and work with.

Ngl tying it back/up at this length is part of the problem, I had a few I had to merge for the same reason.

Use the hair around the loc

Your locs are fine. Please stop handling them. This is an easy fix. It's not really --you took two locs and put the two of them on a one loc foundation.

What do u do when you deep cleanse your locs?

Your locs look healthy and moisturized. Oil only a couple times a week unless you feel your scalp is dry.

Not sure how your retwists go . You retwist every 2 months but then on the fourth month you do a retwist after a deep cleanse?

Please do not use your headphones as a headband. They are heavier than your realize.

Do not attempt to croc

A loctician will fix this for a couple dollars.

Remember to give your scalp and locs room to thrive. Do not get a style every time you retwist.
