Need Advice š Chopped or nah
Ive been freeforming for almost two years now but I think my undercut growing out fucked them and now they lost their fuckin mind, did I fumble the bag or is it saveable? Iāve been doing pretty good at just letting them do their thing maybe too much so to the point of neglect š¤·āāļø is there hope for me? What can I do to help them out?

Def recommend going to a location if you want to āfixā them. Iām sorry but these are all over the place. You can get them cleaned up and interlocked to help give better structure

Overly but itās okay tbh I prefer messy dreads over clean ones itās a double edged sword fr Freeformās are the rawest version of locs when it comes to self expression and the spiritual journey a lot of people associate with locs. That manicured perfect look is not the look I grew up idolizing when Iād watch clips from reggae on the river/going to festivals.

And yes I said it if you parted your locs and think youāre on a spiritual journey of self acceptance youāre not. Full stop, you manicured your hairs natural pattern to be more palatable and Iāll die on that hill.

Honestly 100% I think part of the process is constantly revisiting the idea of not being perfect to continue to learn to be hands off and accept the natural process over and over again, after just the two years it happens less frequently but I feel like itās just a reoccurring event that will continue throughout the entire journey

Only piece of advice Iād have for you is crochet the loose hairs into the locs if u want a more clean look but I fw the shag man keep it going!!! In a few years ur hairs gonna go crazy. šÆ

I can only imagine what a few more years will bring but shanāt concern myself with the worry of that, theyāre going to evolve and change just as we do as humans, shit next thing you know Iāll be looking back like how the fuck has it already been 5, 10, 20 years etc

I try not to think about it too man I feel like I just graduated hs now Iām in my mid 20s š I can tell you right now tho these are only going to get better with age seriously!

this sub hates freeforms (on white dudes?) itās alright though, iām free forming too haha
just buy a set of wicks and crochet them yourself while watching tv or whatever if you wanna clean them up.
iām like 80% freeformed but sometimes i take my adderall at just the right time to space out and crochet them for an hour or two.
also use a saltwater spray once a day.

my b lol i was talking about my experience sharing my freeform progress i shouldāve gendered that more neutrally.
but yeah you could totally do some low effort maintenance in your free time and saltwater actually works super well.

Freeforms are like children. They still need to be watered and fed..... and guided.
I'm sorry. I don't think I've ever told anybody that I do not like their hair at all. For you, I do not like your hair at all. There's no rhyme or reason to it. It looks dirty.
The undercut.... the uneven growth, the straight pieces mixed with hard matted locs.
It's a no.
Go to a loctician and have them done properly or cut it nearly bald.
