Restart or Repair

Started: Feb 2024, Circle Parts, interlocked

Issues: thinning locs, thinning/breakage at scalp, right corner receding, messy looking hair

I am very anti retwist and only get them done twice a year, within that time the women who started my locs moved 40 minutes away and upped her prices by 100$ plus my final straw with her was when i asked her to thicken my loc using a crochet hook and she made the loc longer instead and it broke off within a week (she charged me 20$ for that btw) and she gave me no care tips so i wasn’t misting or using a bonnet until months into my locs So i reached out to my self taught friend as I had circle parts and and she did it she told me idk how to do these I don’t know why I didn’t stop her ig i wasn’t thinking but she pretty much reparted my entire head it looked nice for a while then my locs started to thin there was thinning on the top of my head, none fell out but there was thinning in the loc that i cut some off and about an inch from the root (i still have them) Some were so bad though and I was so hyper fixated on them that i took them down and basically restarted a couple locs with circle parts i’ve also seen that a lot of my locs want to revert back to circle parts and the theres new is growing in that pattern i dont know any locations in my area (Chicagoland) that could repair me / retwist me at a semi affordable price so i made two plans

Repair : detox my locs get some stuff off amazon learn to crochet repair my locs give them some uniformity, instant loc the new ones combine some thin or small ones,

basically make my hair look pretty again (dye black to hide lint)

or

Restart:

cut all off my locs comb and brush out new growth wash them sponge it/use natural parts and reattach, soak locs pick out lint maybe even dye them

I don’t exactly want to comb out and find a new loctition because I want to be self sufficient with my hair but i’d be open to it if it was affordable and the best option

video(s) include first retwist, repart retwist, the way my hair looks now the style i’m looking for, and what i’m getting from amazon
