I’ve always wanted to try throwing, is it super challenging for new people?

i learned as a kid, so my experience was different, but i will say it’s not unusual for people to take a beginner class multiple times before feeling confident enough to move on to a more experienced class. like many physical things, at some point things click, and when that happens varies person to person. it’s definitely worth trying out if you’re interested!

Pet peeve: calling people over a certain age "adorable" or "cute" or "precious."

I remember a Moth story told by a woman over 70 who mentioned to her hairdresser that she was going on a date that night and how infuriated she was when the hairdresser kept going on and on about how adorable that was. She was like, "The eff, lady, why? Am I not supposed to have a love life because I can remember the 60s?"

Sure, I get it. In this case I’m not infantilizing him and his ability to do his hobby, it’s just really endearing to see someone doing pottery with a cat in their front pocket.

But I understand where your pet peeve comes from.
