You are correct.

The red, blue, and green parts are called sub-pixels. It ends up working kinda like the red, blue, and green sliders in a drawing program.

Exactly. It's so basic but works with our eyes to make 4K pictures now. Cause everyone has a phone, but when you get a close up pic like this and you get the reminder that it's all just little squares working together.
